I don't even think the computer in NBA Live would agree to that trade. Just my opinion though.

Adding another injury prone non defender isn't the best idea. Peja is garbage now. West is good but does he play any D either? I know he's pretty decent offensively but i don't see many hornet games to know for sure.

It doesn't seem like we have had any defense the past 5 or so games so we might as well use Ray and Houses expiring contracts to get something. Besides the Hornets wouldn't want to keep Ray, they could do a cheap buyout and he can come back to us with open arms.

what does west make? I'm with you in spirit on this one. Baby, scal, tony allen, giddens etc - any of the non core players to NO for west. it would imediately upgrade our bench and give us scoring which we desperately need. forget defense; we have no offense on our bench

Yep, its pretty bad when House is the leading scorer. Of course a lot of the bench struggles has to do with injuries, but even when healthy we had our weaknesses.

David West's contract is pretty weird, it gets cheaper each year. Not a bad one collectively.

I don't know boys. I don't think the bench is a problem. They are fine, that bench was builtto be able to play against second units.....lately they haevn't been able to

Daniels - Hurt
Sheed - has to start with KG out
Davis - Hurt
House
T. Allen - decent backup/bench role player when healthy, playing in the starting rotiation, PP out
Shelden - has overachieved but what you see is what you get, with him.
Scal - no comment
Walker
Giddens
Hudson

When healthy the first 5 mentioned above should have a field day with the second units on other teams......but that's the thing.....they aren't healthy.

I agree, that our bench for the most part when healthy is ok, but there are no playmakers at the guard positions. House only shoots 3's and Tony has a tendency to throw the ball too low and turns it over.

As for the big positions, Rasheed shoots too many 3's and Baby is too small. Plus they are inconsistent, If KG is out for an extended period we're screwed offensively and defensively.

No need to go after Peja when NO needs to move payroll and there's probably not a big market for West, as teams are saving payroll for next year and some don't have expirings to offer. Offer up Scals, TA, Williams and a #1 pick for West...

Would we really trade for an All-Star PF and bench KG just like that? That simple?

We have to think about winning a title. KG can cry all he wants to about not starting. The fact is that he's locked into a contract and we don't want to be stuck holding our balls if he goes down with another injury.

That's simply too much depth. Very good players won't see playing time and that is bound to be problematic. Garnett NOT starting, not gonna happen.

over the years your trades keep getting worse, and the first ones made me want to kill myself just for clicking on the thread.

New Orleans would never do this trade, first of all. Second, they would not waive Ray Allen even if they did do it. Third, this would create ego / chemistry issues. Bringing in talent like that and losing a key starter means that we're writing off this season and hope to build up enough chemistry to win next year.

This trade would never happen, and if it did it would backfire horribly.

KG would not be effective off the bench. Since we would definitely not get Ray Allen back we would either have the start the either really slow lineup of Pierce-Peja or the no-outside shooting version of Daniels-Pierce. Either way it won't work well. The team we have now would beat that new roster 90% of the time.
