I don't get this trade for Washington. They just lost their starting point guard for the year, so I can't imagine this trade going down without them getting Hinrich instead of Boston. Also, I think they can get more value for Jamison than Tyrus Thomas.

Is Chicago actually looking to move Hinrich? I know they're open to moving Thomas but I think they're pretty partial to Hinrich as a 6th man but I'm probably wrong. And with their young core, I'm not so sure they'd go for a Jamison / Thomas swap. They probably want a younger player who isn't already on the downside of their career while the rest of their team is developing...

I like the idea of getting Hinrich for Boston. I'd much rather have House than Boykins though... And Tony Allen has been playing well I don't want to give up on him just yet.

i'd love to hear ainge propose this trade, just to see how big a laugh comes from the other end of the line.

If the Bulls trade Hinrich for expiring deals they have approximately $38 million in committed salary next year. If the Wiz trade Jamison for expiring deals they have about $33 M committed.

IMO either team would welcome a salary dump, however, I don't think the Bulls would add salary. If the Celtics want Hinrich it would probably be best to deal straight up since they could unload his contract for an additional $9 million or so in cap relief. Under this scenario the Bulls could sign 2 max free agents while retaining a core of Rose/Salmons/Deng/Noah. As for the Wiz, they probably won't be able to trade Arenas at least until the summer, I'm not really sure, but by trading Jamison for expiring deals now and Arenas later, the Wiz would set themselves up for a high lottery pick this year and lots of cap room in 2011.

Trading expiring deals for Hinrich would be great, and it's realistic, but the C's currently don't have the depth to make a 3-for-1 or 4-for-1 trade. If the team gets healthy and Giddens/Walker/Hudson shows a pulse then I'm all for it.

I can see why each team would do it, but I don't think Washington is that desperate yet to get rid of Jamison's contract to give him up for Thomas. Wasn't Chicago interested in Butler? Swap him for Jamison and maybe Washington would do it.
