Will Ainge talk to Washington?

Players I would look at...
Haywood
Foye
Oberto
Young
Since no player on the team is untouchable, I was informed that Brendan Haywood, Nick Young or anyone else could be had right now, but the Wizards don't want to take back salary. The team is not hesitating in its attempts to toss a grenade on the roster.
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizard ... atter.htmlA few ideas... I'm not saying they're the most attractive to Washington. Ainge may have to include a second round pick. I don't know, I'm giving examples of trades that work.
Brendan Haywood for Glen Davis & Brian Scalabrine
Brendan Haywood & Randy Foye for Tony Allen, Eddie House, Brian Scalabrine & JR Giddens
Randy Foye & Nick Young for Tony Allen & Brian Scalabrine
Fabricio Oberto for Shelden Williams & JR Giddens

I'd do any of those trade ideas. I really dislike how are team looks at the 9 through 15 positions. We've got too much crap sitting at the end of the bench. We need some vets.

I read on Hoopshype that a Caron/Camby trade might happen.
Washington must really want to save money if they want to trade Butler for so cheap. I'd love to have Butler on the C's, but I doubt its possible.

scalabrine bbd and tony allen for foye, blatche, and young works.
maybe our 2nd pick or walker throw in. I like this better than the other new jersey thing i was on about. foye would need to resign with us for cheap.

I wouldn't want Haywood. We don't need another mediocre big man.
Randy Foye is all right but his game is basically scoring and that's it, and he's not that efficient at it either.
I like Nick Young a lot but I don't think we need any more shooting guards.
Shelden Williams > Fabricio Oberto.

AInge probably asked about the probability of a Mike Miller buyout weeks ago.

i don't think haywood is worth BBD. i know what baby can do when called upon (15 and 7 in last year's offs).
the other trades i like.
and it would be great to get caron. any ideas? the owners would definitely have to be willing to go deep into lux tax land tho.

BBD and Haywood are very different players, but I think Haywood is quite a bit more valuable. He's a much better rebounder and finisher and an excellent shot-blocker to boot. We couldn't really use him, as we have 2 solid 5s already in Perk and Sheed, but I'd take him over Baby in just about any trade scenario.
Foye and Young are 1-dimensional gunners who don't have the accuracy to justify their shooting volume. Oberto's bla and Butler's not as good as Ray.
Love to get Miller though.

randy foye is a bust in case you haven't noticed. I think ainge wants a back up point guard.

Haywood for Big Baby and Scal looks good. I might throw in Giddens or even Walker - I mean, is he ever going to play? We could use another inside scorer since Rasheed won't be that guy. It would also give us a 4th shot blocker. Wow. Imagine shooting over a rotation of Perk, KG, Rasheed and Haywood.
Miller is also a good look but we don't have the contracts unless we trade House, Baby, TA and Scal. That's a little too much IMO. Maybe if we got a third team involved.

Mediocre?
His statistics have been impressive this season and since 2007-2008. He's better than R. Wallace right now. I was in support of the Wallace signing, but I would take Haywood over Wallace this season. He would be second only to Perkins at center for Boston. That's better than both Wallace and G. Davis.
2009-2010
Haywood
9.5 PPG, .536 FG%, .631 FT%, 10.3 RPG, .4 APG, .4 SPG and 2.3 BPG
Perkins
12.3 PPG, .643 FG%, .619 FT%, 8.2 RPG, 1.2 APG, .2 SPG and 1.9 BPG

Haywood would be redundant with Perkins already on the team. He would be a great backup at center though. Oberto too, but he could be had for a lot cheaper. Haywood's capable of being a starter in this league, so I'm sure someone would outbid us.
Didn't Ainge have some interest in Young back in the 2007 draft? Maybe I have him confused with another team's GM, but I remember there being the possibility of a trade down for him.

I guess acquiring Ilgauskas for Jamison straight up makes sense but only if Washington has an interest in him. I would think Ilgauskas is unhappy in a reserve role so why would he be content playing possibly behind Haywood (if he isn't traded) and a losing team.
Personally, I think Washington is stuck with Arenas' contract. So Foye could still be traded. But there's always the chance that Washington could void Arenas' contract and decide to extend Foye's contract. Who knows...
Despite his age (33), the Cavs covet Jamison and what he can bring to the team, which is a big guy who can play on the perimeter, rebound and stretch defenses.
Jamison has remained loyal to the Wizards, but he might believe that it's time for him to move on. A Wizards official, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the power forward as being tired of what has become a sideshow-like atmosphere.
''He wants to win. He's tired of the [expletive] here,'' he said.
For Jamison, that means he's amenable to being traded.
''Definitely. This stuff is wearing thin on him,'' the official said.
So what will it take to get Jamison away from the Wizards?
More than likely it will take resolution to Arenas' situation, because the Wizards might be looking into voiding his $111 million contract in light of his recent suspension for bringing guns into the locker room. That in itself would free up a lot of cash. Jamison has $28 million left on his deal, and the Cavs have had little problem absorbing the cost of huge contracts.
The Wizards would then likely want something of value for Jamison. For them, nothing is more valuable than an expiring contract. Yahoo Sports reported recently that the Cavs are willing to part with center Zydrunas Ilgauskas to complete a deal, but the question is whether the Wizards would want him.
http://www.ohio.com/sports/thomas/81079447.html"I think we have a group of guys that can compete for a championship now. In this business there's nothing guaranteed, so that's all you can ask for.
"I don't think you can ever say no (to considering a deal). If there is something out there that you feel is going to help your team, you got to listen to it. But I know as a coach I'm happy with the group of guys that we have out there on the floor.''

I'm not sure Washington would accept but I would trade Ray for Miller and Butler. Miller would replace Ray's shooting and Butler would be the best 6th man in the league. Even if Miller left after the year Butler could start and we would still have the MLE to sign someone. The trade would also allow us to trade Quis if he brought back decent value.

I'm not sure Butler would want to come off the bench, and Miller's currently injured. It's a calf injury... Apparently, he also has a shoulder injury too.

Butler would definitely start ahead of Miller. However Miller's various injuries this season might put a possible deal in jeopardy.

Randy Foye avg 16 ppg last season and he shoots over 36% from 3 and has put up 15/3/4 as a starter this season. All Star no bust not all. Love to see that kid in Boston.

Yeah, considering the way Pierce has been shooting the ball this year, this would definitely be the case.

Washington has shooters. We desperately need shooters. They are a natural trading partner. They have no illusions - they are going to suck for a long time and they know it. Trading with us will not be an issue, depsite us being in the same conference. They are blowing that sucker up.

I certainly wouldn't cry about him showing up here, but Young would be the real catch. His deal goes on one year longer, and is cheaper. If we couldn't get a guy like Hinrich, Foye would be a nice alternative. The problem with him is resigning him at a reasonable rate next season. With only the MLE to work with, and with so many expiring deals, I would like to get guys who have at least one more year on their deals to set our long term rotation.
