Feel guilty even creating an award thread for a game that was over after about 10 minutes, but, here you are.....

I gave it to Rondo. He set the pace early and the game was basically over.

Doc was extremely unwise to let Paul play after we had already blown them out in the first quarter. I hope the subsequent knee bumps superimposed on his previously septic knee did not harm him. I did not see most of the game - too busy writing a manuscript under pressure. Was it the septic knee that got bumped?
On the bright side: Paul's movement and shot have been much much more fluid during the last couple of games. In fact, he is starting to look like the All Pro Megastar Paul we saw during the first 15 games of the season. I am encouraged by that. It looks like his knee is really healing. Typically, septic arthritis requires longer to recover from. Chalk it up to fantastic care by his docs in Boston, and to Paul being a very very very tough fearless dude. Had they not done what they did IMMEDIATELY, he might have required a CAREER-TERMINATING knee replacement. My medical hat is off to his medical team, and to the trainer who came to his house that first night at 3 AM, realized the profound seriousness of the disease (not injury) and rushed him to the ER. He will be on antibiotics for at least 1 month since the time this began - which means another week or so I think.
I 10000000000000000% agree with everyone who has been saying that Danny needs to make a move and get a real back-up for Paul at the 3 (RYAN GOMES could not be more perfect), and a real back-up for Rajon at the point. I hope Sheed bounces back because we are obviously in deep do-do if the KG thing from last year repeats itself. I know a tremendous amount of endocrinology and internal medicine, but my knowledge of orthopedics is minimal. I know nothing about "hyperextended knees". After I meet a deadline that I MUST meet by this coming Monday - I will call a couple of orthopedist friends of mine, and see what they have to say. I also know a bunch of endocrinology docs at Harvard/Mass General, who I am sure can put me in touch with a Harvard-affiliated orthopedist. If I learn something, I will share it with my Celtic co-fanatics in cyberspace.
