I feel the big fella is one of the most underrated players in the game today. He's averaging a career high in points (12.5) , boards (8.2), fg% (64%, which is 1st in the league) and is top ten in blocks per game at 2 per. His offensive game is improving with his jumper and hook shots.

He plays amazing man up D and allows KG and Wallace to play better team D, making our team better. I love how the big guy has matured from a chubby HS player into a force in the paint.

I'm so excited to have him and Rondo moving forward.

Perk has steadily improved every single year since his chubby, out of HS days in 03! His work ethic is amazing, which has allowed him to maximize on his talents, his contract is also superb for what all he brings to the team. Perk loves to play ball and is not just playing because it pays to be big(E. Curry, Kwame B)! There is also no reason to believe that he will not continue to improve, since centers take longer to mature and Perk is only 25. If Perk had the same respect from the ref's that others get he would be dominant! I think we are in great shape for the future since PG and C are the harder positions to fill!!!

Give a ton of credit to Danny Ainge for sticking with Perk and Rondo.

In games where we are stuggling to get the O going, I think we should go into Perk more. Especially when KG is out. Why not go into him in the paint 4 or 5 times a quarter. The next step for him is getting up to that 20 point a game mark. While its not realistic with the big 3 taking so many shots, it is very realistic a few years down the road. I still think we missed the bot not persuing Mourning a few years ago to help him. At some point Shaq at the MLE might make a lot of sense though..

Perk sets a great example. Still room for improvement, but as everyone points out, he is a true professional. Today's Globe article points out one of my pet peeves as it relates to the offense over the past 2.5 seasons:

“It’s something new for him,’’ guard Rajon Rondo said of Perkins being double-teamed. “For the most part he’s doing a good job. We’ve got to give him more outlets, the guards have to give him outlets to make a pass. He’s getting trapped, and a lot of guys, including myself, we’re standing there, expecting him to make the home run pass. But you’ve just got to keep it simple and have outlets for him.’’

Whether Doc preaches that it is the low post player's responsibility to handle the ball well enough despite the double team pressure to find the open man or he simply does not stress to his players that, while spacing is important, you need to move to create wider and shorter passing lanes, it irks me.
