The captain has spoken. Pierce questioned the pride and toughness of his teammates after the Mavs game. I'm glad Pierce is speaking out. It was obvious watching the game that the Celtics lacked energy, pride, and toughness. We are playing really bad at home and maybe this could spark the team.
Rondo looked like he took the night off. Rasheed looks more interested in fighting with the refs than playing basketball and helping the team win. 3 rebounds is pretty weak in over 30 minutes played for a 7 footer.

Re: Paul Pierce calls out his teammates
About **** time. He should have done this a LONG time ago..this team has been walking around during BIG part of games during the last 3 weeks. Ever since we beat Orlando on Xmas Day, the only game we actually played like we gave a damn was the Toronto game.(Without 3 starters!)
I said this on the game thread yesterday..Paul as CAPTAIN of this team, needed to chew these **** a new ass..he has been too passive. You think Kobe Bryant would tolerate this ****? Hell no..you have Rajon Rondo thinking he is a model, walking up and down the red carpet out there..you have Perkins playing like he is mad at the world everytime he gets called for a foul..it's one thing to try to be intimidating, but Perkins is taking it to a whole different level..yesterday he left Dampier WIDE OPEN, Rondo tried to help and fouled the guy for an AND 1, and Perkins just 'punched the air'..ridiculous.
Rasheed is just chilling..at least he cut down on the 3's a bit..but he doesn't look like he is trying either..this isn't even what he wants anyways..he wants to come off bench..the only one taking hits and going to the basket is Pierce. Somebody HAD to come out and say something. You know KG would have said something by now, but he is not playing so he wouldn't throw his guys under the bus like that...Doc Rivers is more like a babysitter than a Coach..he pretty much lets his guys do as they please, as long as they are happy doing it..
...Ray Allen wouldn't do it..Rondo sure as hell wouldn't...Paul had to come out and call these dudes out..about time. If this doesn't get em up, nothing will...

Considering Perkins' mother WAS murdered, I find this in particularly poor taste.

Obviously BRUNiNHO91 did not know this. Hell this is the first time I am hearing about this as well.
Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

This team has no sense of urgency at home. Teams are very comfortable coming into the Garden and taking it to the Celtics. Very frustrating. I'm just glad that I don't have season tickets! I know those season ticket holders must be pissed off that every time they go to a game they are not assured of a win. Last year and the year before home games were almost a sure win. Not anymore.

I was at the game, and Sheed did look terrible. He's been like this all season, but today the fact that he was guarding a guy that lives on the perimeter makes it tougher to have huge rebounding numbers. Nevertheless, it really hands down the worst Celtics game I've ever been to. I'm glad Pierce felt that way, cause it was a terrible game.

You 'consider' the fact that I could never even imagine that such a thing happened to his mother? I would have never said that if I knew it... Anyways..my mistake..and I already edited the post..so chill.

Sheed was definitely in his ref-hating mode, but he was very good in the post and we couldn't get anything going on offense once he went out of the game. He may only have had 11 points, but when he was in there, Sheed controlled the offense and gave us an offensive plan instead of everyone looking lost.

Re: Paul Pierce calls out his teammates
I am glad PP is saying it because if we do say it some people will attack us on this board.
they play lazy basketball, going for steals, swinging while people blow by them, stand around and wait to get the ball for a jump shot.
I have to add, I am sick of that pick and roll with Rondo and PP. it works on small PGs, but when Paul gets Kidd 20Feet from the basket, I am sorry, that is not a give me, that is not offense.
we tried the same thing in the Hawks game and he failed to score on crawford. The 2" paul has on these guys doesn't help him all that much.

Re: Paul Pierce calls out his teammates
This year's team is reminding me a lot of the 87/88 season (two years removed from their title). I hope we turn it around when KG and Marquis return, but my feeling is that more offensive punch at backup SF and a real backup PG would be a real help and necessary for a real shot at the championship.
