Just a rumor......I wonder how valid it is.........where there is smoke.......
ps.......as was also posted on Cblog......take with a grain of salt.......this was tweeted.
I for one am not a tweeter.
Robinson’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, denied any knowledge of these discussions. “If anyone would know, I think it would be me,” he said.

I'd do this deal like Lionel Richie "all night long".

Why not move Scals? Why does House need to be in the deal?

We don't really need him if we have Nate. We do have 2 open spots though if this deal goes down.
Perkins/Sheed/Shelden
KG/Baby/Scala
Pierce/Daniels
R.Allen/T.Allen/Giddens
Rondo/Robinson

I think if we decide to trade for Nate...I believe we could sign him longterm in 2010. He could even start after Ray is gone in a year or two. Playing sg on offense and pg on defense with Rondo defending sg.

This twitter feed has about zero credibility. The Herald just reported that there's no substance to this rumor and that NY is looking to get A LOT back for Robinson.
That said, House HAS to be in or a part of any deal that returns Robinson to Boston.
Taking the fact that NY is looking to replace Robinson with a pass first true point and earlier this season tried to trade Nate to Memphis for Marcus Williams (only to have Nate veto the trade), I think we're looking at a 3 team trade between Memphis, NY, and Boston (if there's anything to these rumors). The principles would be Nate, House, and Williams, with minimum salary guys and picks thrown in here and there to make the #s work (or perhaps to sweeten things).

There's no way we would start Nate at shooting guard unless we have a lot of injuries. That backcourts way too small to be a permanent fixture.

It actually sounds like no deal is even close. Also when did twitter posts become legit rumors? Who the hell is that person who even twittered that anyway?

What’s with the Celts and Nate Robinson?
Posted by Mark Murphy at 12:07 pm
A league source close to both sides of the situation shot down rumors today that the Celtics have renewed talks with the Knicks concerning a possible trade for guard Nate Robinson.
“Don’t waste your time,” said the source. “The Knicks are looking for quite a bit for him.”
The source said that both sides did have discussions earlier this season but that nothing came of it.
Robinson’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, denied any knowledge of these discussions. “If anyone would know, I think it would be me,” he said.
Robinson, 25, who spent the greater part of the season in Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni’s doghouse, is averaging 13 points and 3.2 assists per game. He’s playing 23.4 minutes and shooting 47.4 percent from the field.
The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 18.

Yeah, I doubt this will be the trade. It just sounds too good to be true.

I'm just not sure what role Nate Robinson would play on this team. He's not a better spot up shooter than House. I guess he's a better ball handler, but he's also 5'7", so he's not a good defensive fit either.

He's a better all around player then House. Sure he can't defend, but neither can House. At least we would have another scorer and ball handler.
On a sidenote, the C's are going to be the biggest trashtalkers ever. I always used to make fun of how Nate gets too excited after he does anything, but now I'm going to enjoy it.

He will be brought in just to score points off the bench. I like House but he has not been great this year and he can really only do one thing. Robinson is a better offensive player.
This is probably all moot anyway. I just don't see Robinson being traded here.

we need a spark off the bench and house hasn't been able to deliver this year. I love eddie and his attitude but robinson is more of a true pg and can get his own shot. why wouldn't the knicks do this? If they can get more for nate then god bless them . I htink they've forgotten that Nate is difficult and a ball hog.

Does House HAVE to be in a deal for nate? I just think Dannyco will want to have house on he bench just in case. He may or may not be in the tightened playoff rotation but its nice to have a guy who you can use who might lige it up and get 20points from the 3.

Actually, he's shooting a higher percentage from behind the arc than House is.

isn't Nate BYC? that would make the reported trade impossible.

I'd deal with it but it neither brings up nor down our chances at winning the championship. Replacing an offensive minded shooting guard in a point guard body with an offensive minded shooting guard in a point guard body is not the shakeup needed.

It would maket he C's better. House cannot create his own shot nor create shots for anybody else and House does not go to the free throw line because he never gets to the rim. House has 6 more FT attempts in 17 more games and I bet a quarter of them are from technicals..illegal D etc. That alone makes Nate better because neither play D. It's not a deal that suddenly makes the C's some overwhelming favorite or anything like that but it would make the team better for sure.
