http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... in_trades/We should go after Butler, he's still young and has experience. All we can really offer our expirings though.

I love Jamison..I like him better than Butler..he could play the 3, and we could slide Paul to the 2 and bring Ray off the bench...we would also stop Cleveland from getting him and that would be HUGE. If the Cavs get Jamison, that would be the first time LeBron has an legit ALL STAR talent playing along side of him..if that happens, it's a wrap. I'd go for Jamison, but either one of them would be welcome. Doubt it would happen though...

if Jamison and/or Butler is coming then Ray Allen is going out

It would take Ray but he could get the C's both of them. I just don't get why the Bullets would do this. There are so many players in the 2010 sweepstake I can't see any top FA signing with Washington. If they are able to void Gilbert's contract that puts them at 35 million for next year which would be enough for a max. contract who they could team with Butler and Jameson.

I just hope to god Jamison doesn't go to the Cavs. That would be ugly.

Read the article next time:
The Wizards may have to settle for expiring contracts and/or draft picks for Jamison and Butler if they opt to trade the pair.
That's pure speculation that the Wiz are desperate to move them and are willing to take extremely less value than they're worth. No one's going to get them exclusively for expirings and crappy prospects/picks, otherwise Jamison would already be in Cleveland. I wish RealGM had a little more journalistic integrity than to make broad speculations in their news columns, but this is the same site that consistently messes up grammar and facts.
We could possibly get one back for Ray, since he's more than an expiring, but it depends on what Washington's looking for. I'd rather just avoid Butler and Jamison if it means giving up Ray.

The quote you just posted says expirings
and/or draft picks. Other teams know they put themselves in a hole, so they'll wait it out until they come begging.

I'd do this trade with washington butler, miller, foye for allen, scal and t.allen and two future 2nd rd picks.
I'm not high on jamison he is 34 and is 3 more mil than butler who is 28 and fills a need.
Other than that we have bbd gidden, walker to deal instead of scal and t.allen and ray, which is not much room to trade without getting another wing to replace ray.

Right, they're going to come begging to take a 20/10 power forward and a solid scoring wing off their hands for our late first round pick and expirings. The only hole they're in is with Arenas.

The other hole they're in is the Eastern Conference, and close to the bottom. w/o Arenas it looks increasingly dim even though the team has a lot of talent. I wouldn't be surprised to see a move made, and Butler seems like he's been the odd man out lately. I've always liked his game, though, and he could be very valuable to the Celtics as a sort of Pierce 2.0.
Scal+TAllen+ House+ future pick for Butler might work. Then put Lue in a uniform. Bench:
Wallace
Baby
Butler
Quis
Lue
Not the greatest 3pt shooting squad, but there are two guys who can create their own shot in Quis and Butler, and Lue can still (I hope) bring the ball up the floor. I like this better than what we have now.

There's no way they'd accept that...

Boston Incoming
Antwan Jamison
Caron Butler
Washington Incoming
Ray Allen
Brian Scalabrine
future first
Boston picks up some major scoring which they desperatly need and becomes on of if not the deepest teams in basketball.
Washington clears an ENORMUS amount of capspace and become players in the FA market and basicly get to start over.

RR
PP
AJ
KG
KP
House
Daniels
Butler
Davis
Wallace
That's an incredible amount of depth and talent--- the bench could probably win 40 games as starters. C's go into full-blown win-now mode.
It's really a pipe dream but if Wash decides to rebuild... ???

Their record was horrible before the whole Arenas/gun mess. So they have to do something drastic. I'm sure they'd rather just blowup the team and build through the draft. Besides getting 20 and 10 on a really bad team isn't as impressive.
