For my Ws' tweeps: multiple front offices say Ws are looking to move anybody to save $. Raising speculation team could be for sale.

Go get Maggette.

Boston trades Tony Allen, Scalabrine, House, Giddens, 2010 1st round pick for Maggette, Watson.

Activate - T. Lue

PG - Rondo, Watson, Lue
SG - Ray Allen, Daniels
SF - Pierce, Maggette, Walker
PF - Garnett, Davis, S. Williams
C - Perkins, Wallace

2 open roster spots for buyouts.

Go for it. :D

Bucher is the worst insider on the national scene. If he says it, it can't be true.

This is the exact trade I'm hoping for. We'd be totally set up for the playoffs then. Maggette would provide some pop off the bench and allow both Ray and Paul to get some much needed rest. Watson could provide a serviceable 10 minutes to spell Rondo, and getting Daniels back will likewise get Ray and Paul some rest.

Have we not established that we have enough vets (KG, PP, etc.) that we don't have to worry about someone's attitude being an issue?

Maggette's contract is an absolute joke. No thanks.

His game is an absolute joke as well, he was 3 for 27 last night with one assist. We don't need that ish on our team.

The Golden State Warriors? They're having a fire sale??!

Trade Ray, get Ellis, and/or have them compensate us for taking on bad contracts (Maggette, Biedrins) with Randolph or a 1st.

He had a miserable game last night, but on the year he shoots .524, scores 20.7 and grabs 6.2 boards in 30 minutes. He'd be excellent to supplement Pierce and Ray. Hardly falls in the joke category.

Attitude is still an issue- though I don't think Ainge cares much - he was backstage on the Celtics' championships, he knows how much trouble a winning team can keep a lid on.

We've descended from the real "ubuntu" chemistry of that title team -

so instead of Posey's personality we have Marquis Daniels (reportedly 'enigmatic')
instead of P.J. Brown, Sheed -

Trading Ray, the model Celtic and an influence on Rondo, for stat-hogs Maggette and Ellis-

could get ugly :D

If Ainge had a problem with Maggette then he wouldn't have offered him the full mid level a couple of years ago.

Now he may not like the contract but that is a whole different story.

attitude in the locker room and streets are 1 thing.

Read this http://dimemag.com/2008/12/breaking-new ... -the-ball/

more importantly notice what KG said.

Maggette would be one of the last guys in the league I would want to trade for.

I'd throw some expirings for Maggette. Come on why the heck not? The guy is a 20 ppg scorer. Who wouldn't want that ish coming off the bench? Give them Sheldon, TA, Scal, and JR, and Walker if they want. None of these guys mean jack to our team...

I think I would take on Maggette for nothing. I don't like his contract but he has a pretty special game. Nobody wanted Jamal Crawford either and that has worked out pretty well. Maggette has never gotten a chance to play in a winning situation, he may not be good enough to make a winning situation but I think he could play in one.

Doc has had him before and knows the kid and seems willing to work with him and lets not forget that while Doc has done fine handling superstars he was also pretty special and holding together some basketcases as well.

But I think we should focus on getting a ball handler.

if all we have to do is give up expirings (excluding Ray) to get Maggette then sign me up.

Maggette has been available for expirings since last year. It's not like this "fire sale" changes everything. No team is dumb enough to pay 40 mil over 4 years when the salary cap is going to decline for a 0 time all star like Maggette. I think he went 3 for 21 last night.

I have no use for Maggette, whatsoever. If he was on a normal, MLE deal, like the one we actually offered him, then he would be useful. He is on a ridiculous contract offered by a moronic organization.

Now, Randolph, Watson, Morrow and, to a lesser extent, Ellis are another story entirely. I think that Randolph could become a bigtime player in this league. KG would be a near perfect mentor for him as well. Watson and Morrow bring a lot to the table as players. Ellis is OK, and at least his deal is stable and you can honestly say that the guy plays hard no matter what. He already got his money, and still raised his game. That counts for something.

The rest of them? No thanks.

Special game? He makes Iverson look like a pass-first player.

No defense, no passing, hollow stats. His entire game, on both ends of the floor, is totally dependent on being bailed out by the refs.

Guy is a career loser and always will be. It is said that Brand couldn't wait to get away from the guy.
