WT: Potential buy out targets

Chris Sheridan of ESPN.com writes that the Celtics could add a veteran player to their roster over the next month.

Boston could wait for a veteran to be bought out by his current team and Sheridan listed Keyon Dooling, T.J. Ford, Mark Blount, Tony Battie, Jarvis Hayes, Trenton Hassell as potential fits.

Dooling, Ford, Hayes and even Hassell could be of some use, at least in the second half of the season to try and give the starters some more rest

Who else could be a potential target?

t.j. ford and jarvis hayes would be great although I think hayes is more likely t.j. ford prolly won't get bought out bird hates buyouts look at tinsley.

hell i'd waive giddens to get both.

rondo/ford/house/daniels
ray/daniels/allen/house/walker/hayes
pierce/hayes/walker
kg/sheed/bbd/scalabrine
perk/sheed/williams

that looks nice.. with some players able to play multi postions that would be nice.

I'm surprised nobody wants to bring Mark Blount (pronounced Blunt) back!LOL He would come skipping through that door! In all seriousness TJ Ford would be a great backup, and its always nice to have speedsters at the PG spot! What about TMac is he getting bought out???

I am sick and tired of these buy out players. Trade for a guy that can actually help us, we need more than over the hill additions!

And if we bring "I don`t even want to write his name" back, I would boycott the Celtics! I absolutely HATE that guy! :banghead:

Dooling, when healthy, would be a decent fit. Honestly, though, if Danny's "plan" is to wait until after the deadline for a buyout guy to come here, then the team is flat out chucking the season. This bench is unacceptable. Period.

Doc likes the bench. You don't usually make a move, if your coach says you're in a good position to just stand still. I don't mind us waiting for some buyouts..I think when we add Quisy to our bench, it will all come together again. None of the contending teams have ridiculously good benches anyways..

Tony Allen and Daniels cannot play together. At all. So you either play one or the other.

Quite frankly, I could care less what Doc likes. He was talking about our guys relying too much on their great offense recently. That is a patently delusional statement. This offense is VERY far from being great. It is the one that he WANTS to run.... which I guess qualifies as being great in Doc's eyes.

Green Dreamer with the same ol Doc Rivers sob story. Lovely.

Anytime you throw Mark Blounts name in the mix I think you can safely assume this is pure speculation. However I think signing a bought out vet is far more likely than a trade, purely IMO.

I'm not a fan of picking up late season buy-outs, frankly I didn't think Sam or Marbury worked out all that well. If depth is to be brought in, I'd far rather it be higher end players, and the earlier the better to catch on to the Celtics system.

I don't think Sam and Marbs not working well had everything to do with the fact they were a late season pick ups.

Well, the nature of a late season buy-out is a player whose value is so low a team couldn't get anything for them in a trade, and they're so unwanted that teams pay them money to just go away.

And how could I ever forget Mikki Moore. (I guess by trying real hard to)

I just don't think you win championships by playing players that nobody else even wants.

BTW, this is a different situation than bringing Brown back from retirement, at least he was a guy teams wanted.

Steph just came in too late, i have no doubt if he had 40 games with the team before teh playoffs and some decent minutes he wouldve helped a lot more

TMac would be phenomenal! Are the Rockets actively trying to trade him buy him out? Why wouldn't they just keep him, unless he is forcing himself out of there. Really hoping for a splash!
