We should trade for Iguodala

Iguodala (26 in April) is much younger then Ray (35 in August) and he's more athletic. Sure he can't shoot like Ray, but he can probably do everything else better. I'd be willing to take Kapono to make the salaries matchup.

Why on Earth would the Sixers do that? Anyone getting Iguodala would probably need to take Brand.

They are paying out a lot of money to have a losing team. What do they have 15-16 wins? They might as well save money and be losers.

Lebron James (26 in December) is much younger then Ray (35 in August) and he's more athletic. Sure he can't shoot like Ray, but he can probably do everything else better. I'd be willing to take Daniel Gibson to make the salaries matchup.
Hey, this is no more ridiculous than your trade idea

haha....ha, Philly is going nowhere and has a lot of money tied up because of their bad decisions much like Washington. Brand's making like 66 million the next 4 years.

Supposedly Philly is willing to trade Igoudala+Dalembert for expirings...Ray+filler would be enough. The only problem is we are in the same division, so for them it would make more sense to trade for T-mac...

That's true about Houston, they make more sense. Who knows if they would be willing to take on so many long contracts though. Trading within the same division has been done before so its not unheard of. Toronto traded Vince Carter to the Nets.

Ray + Davis + our first for Iggy + Dalembert. I think this would get it done and I would take Iggy over Ellis, Martin, or Amare.

Iguodala is a 0 time all star making 13+ for about the next 5 years. And there will be a new salary cap(possibly a hard cap) from CBA negotiations so we really have to be careful.

I don't think that would get it done, but Danny is never going to offer that up anyway. Ray Allen isn't getting traded.

Well...I would also take Iggy over Ellis & Amare. His long range shot isn't necessarily that much worse than PP's was early in his career, he's a good play creator and an all-around player who tends to get underrated. Overall, I hate to advocate "replacing" PP - but Iggy would be closest to PP, just a bit younger. I think he's good enough to justify a high contract, and he will shortly be entering his prime.
I'd be inclined to take him over Martin to since he's a much more complete player. Although Martin would make a perfect fit if the goal was simply to replace Ray.
I don't know how easily we could land him.

His 0 all star appearances don't bother me. He's been on a team with Iverson who gets a lot of votes or a very bad team his whole career. Coaches especially don't like voting players on bad teams into the game.

You do realize that the all star voting is a joke right? AI was voted in as a starter and he has barely played this year. Same with KG.

That's the same stupid idea people used to justify the Gasol trade. If a team's bad, they'd might as well make themselves worse to save money? Maybe they should just fold the team if that's the case, since apparently retaining good players in an effort to improve doesn't make sense when you're already a loser...

Iggy should have made the All-Star team this year. Fantastic player. Not a realistic target though, unless Philly is really desperate to shed a great player entering his prime for an expiring contract.

If there is any chance of it we would have to do it... Iggy is a beast
Though the lack of any word of us even saying Rays contract is available worries me a bit, we need to at least be keeping that option open

On the flip side I think it will difficult for contending teams (top-10 essentially) not to make a trade like this if they had the chance. Implementing a hard cap would take several years, it wouldn't happen next year or even the year after (at which point a player like Iggy) would only have 2 years remaining. Also, I'm a fan of his game, so that helps.

I actually think 13 isnt so bad for him...with him and Rondo locked up, that is already 2 relatively young all star talent guys going forward, plus one of the best interior defenders in the league in perk..
Its not hard to find shooters to surround these fantastic defenders with long term.. i think hes ideal personally

They want to unload Delambert with him... So it would take
Ray/Scal/Davis/Pick for Iguodala/Delambert
Sam has this season and next on big money, Andre is locked up long term
I think we actually save a small amount of money this season, but next season with Rondos extra cash the tax would take another big hit.. but then again he would be an expiring and give us more flexabilty again
Line up after a potential trade would be
Rondo/House
Iguodala/Daniels/Giddens
Pierce/Walker
Garnett/Sheed/Williams
Perkins/Delambert
I do it.. but its not my money

ray allen, sheed & scal for iggy & brand. i think brand would be great to pair with of our bigs and iggy + rondo would be a dynamic duo.
