The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday that forward Paul Pierce suffered a strained left mid-foot during the first quarter against the Washington Wizards on February 1.

He is currently listed as day-to-day.

Pierce has played in 41 games this season for the Celtics and is averaging a team-high 18.9 points.

Thank God, I don't know what we would do if he was out for the season. Hopefully they keep him out until the end of the all star break. He doesn't need to play in that game, it doesn't mean anything.
