For these reasons, I have concluded that there is only one trade the Celtics should make in the next two weeks should the opportunity arise: some combination of Allen for Andre Iguodala.

Iguodala is the perfect fit for this Celtics team. He is already known for his defensive prowess and he is the perfect up-tempo player to complement Rajon Rondo. Pierce is also shooting a career-best 47 percent from 3 this season, so Pierce taking over the exclusive 3-point-shooting duties from Allen is not outlandish, especially with Eddie House coming off of the bench.

The bottom line is that the pros outweigh the cons with this trade -- at least in terms of guarantees. There is no guarantee that Allen is just going through a tough stretch and will snap out of it to become his old self again. However, there is a guarantee that Iguodala will remain 26 years old for the rest of the season.

We need some ATHLETICISM! Igoudala would be perfect but I doubt Philly will trade him to a division rival. I have been saying for weeks: Ray+whatever filler they want for Iguodala+Dalambert...

Iguadala helps us in so many ways..

defensively he improves the wing D no end

helps on the boards, he is a good rebounder from the wing

athletecism/energy.. something this team sorely lacks

a guy to attack the basket

etc etc etc...

also, he would defend 2 guards, but would allow pierce to play more of a jump shooting role and save his body for the playoffs, allowing andre to attack the rim

i really hope its being explored and discussed... i dont think it will happen, but im hopeful at least

He firmly believes, as does Doc that this C's team can win it all.

Here's the problem. Igoudala is worth and will pull SOOOOOOOOO much more than Ray Allen could in a trade. Unless we get stuck with Dalembert we would be fleecing Philly.

Only way I could see us getting Iguodala is if we agreed to take on Elton Brand's deal, not Dalembert's. Which I'm pretty sure we won't do.

LA are going to go after Kirk Hinrich [possibly].

I'd be interested to see how they would function with Iggy. My concern is that he, too, is a subpar outside shooter. My opinion of the two slasher offense has been articulated often, ad nauseum most likely. But the other side of it is my contention that having three inside oriented scorers WOULD be troublesome from a spacing standpoint. So Rondo, IGGY, and Perk, IMO, is not an ideal mix. Also IGGY, I believe, still wants to create much of his own offense and may be a ball sticker, at least initially. He may struggle to adjust, assuming he was willing to adjust in the first place.

I disagree with the part about Pierce making up for the lost of Ray in the area of three-pointers. Pierce has changed his shooting form and it has improved his shooting this season. Namely, an improvement in his three-point percentage. However, who's to say that Pierce can sustain this career best in three-point percentage going into next season. Also, Pierce can be clutch at times in the fourth quarter, but you don't replace the clutch performances of a Ray Allen from over his NBA career overnight.

If you got Iguodala, then I see Pierce regulated to the bench in a sixth man role. But I don't think Pierce has reached that point to where his skills have declined that dramatically.

Well, in the Cs defense, Ainge never addresses trades/speculation. Now, ask me how I feel on February 19, and it may be different. But I certainly don't want Ainge to say, "man, I hate our team. We stink. We play with no heart. Our players suck. Wanna make a trade?"

true.. however we do have an array of outside shooters on the team aswell if you include long 2's with KG, Sheed, Paul and Eddie in a playoff rotation

would be 4 inside (rondo, iguadala, daniels, perkins)

and 4 outside (KG, Sheed, Paul, Eddie) threats, with Davis in there as a bit of both

It would take a bit of coaching (look out doc you may have to actually DO something) to chnge the offense a little, but i think it could work

Get **** real. SHOULD?SHOULD?Come on..We have absolutely nothing to offer for Iguodala. The Suns are discussing trading Amar'e for him, why the **** would they GIVE him to us? It's not that simple people...if there was any possible way we could get him, he would be here by now.

iggy can't shoot, he is a "volume scorer" which equals great stats on lousy teams. and speaking of lousy, look at his contract.... much prefer Kevin Martin or even Caron Butler

I don't see Iggy being dealt for only an expiring deal, and can't see Amare wanting to be in Philly.

Pretty much my feeling for him, except I wouldn't trade ray ray for martin or butler.
