What do you guys think of the following?
Boston outgoing: Ray Allen, Giddens, Big Baby, TA, Scal, Sheldon
Boston incoming: Mehmet Okur, Jason Richardson, CJ Miles, Kyle Korver, NYK 1st
Utah outgoing: Kyle Korver, Mehmet Okur , CJ Miles, NYK 1st
Utah incoming: Ray Allen, Sheldon Williams, Jarron Collins
Phoenix outgoing: Jason Richardson, Jarron Collins
Phoenix incoming: Baby, TA, Scal, Giddens
Why for Boston: We get a high lotto pick to grab a young star to pair with Rondo and Perk in the post big three era. Richardson is a good player, we can plug him in at the two and not have a massive drop off from Ray. Korver, Memo and Miles will make our bench stronger. Richardson and Miles expire next year, Memo expires with Garnett and Sheed. Korver is an expiring.
Why not for Boston: This deal will cost us a lot of money. I don’t know if Wyc and Co will be willing to shell out that kind of cash. Memo is having a down year. Phoenix is really down on Richardson (poor play, DUI, overpaid). Richardson and Memo have bad contracts. We lose some good players.
Why for Utah: They get a major upgrade at shooting guard in Ray Allen which helps round out their starting five. Ray is an expiring so if it doesn't work out they can cut ties in the offseason. They add Collins and Sheldon to their bench, giving them extra size. They get to dump Okur's ugly deal which allows them more flexibility in the offseason when deciding who they can sign. Memo is having a down year, he's not contributing that much. CJ Miles is another player who Jazz fans seem to want to dump to save money.
Why not for Utah: They lose the Knicks first round pick. Utah fans were uncomfortable dealing away the Knicks pick. Maybe we could work something out where we give them a little more if the lotto balls bounce our way and we end up with a top three pick. Or we could send them more in the deal straight up (Baby, Eddie, etc).
Why for PHX: Phoenix gets to dump Richardson’s deal. Phoenix fans don’t want Richardson and are willing to dump him for expirings. Steve Kerr apparently feels the same way and is looking for the first deal that gives him expirings for Richardson. Phoenix also gets a talented, cheap, young big in return.
Why not for PHX: Richardson can play. Maybe they won’t want to dump him for Baby and expirings.
