How about trading Ray back to Milwaukee?

If this rumor were true... I would consider it. Personally, I would resign Alexander, trade Gadzuric in the off-season and decide whether or not to resign Ridnour. You don't, if you feel a better option at backup point guard has become available in the off-season. Ultimately, it'll depend on how well he's able to acclimate himself with Boston this season. I would probably lean toward resigning him, though.

Ray for Ridnour, Gadzuric and Alexander, or Ray and Davis for Ridnour, Gadzuric, Warrick and Alexander works.

They're all expiring contracts except for Gadzuric who has one more year.

I say, buyout Giddens' contract because he likely won't make the playoff roster and Boston would need to subtract a player anyways. He has two years remaining but Boston holds a team option for both years. Or you waive Williams.

Scenario One

4 - Garnett, Wallace, Davis and Scalabrine
3 - Pierce, Alexander and Walker
5 - Perkins, Gadzuric and Williams
1 - Rondo and Ridnour
2 - Allen, Daniels, House and Giddens (buyout his contract)

Scenario Two

4 - Garnett, Wallace and Scalabrine
3 - Pierce, Alexander, Warrick and Walker
5 - Perkins, Gadzuric and Williams
1 - Rondo and Ridnour
2 - Allen, Daniels, House and Giddens (buyout his contract)

The NBA trading deadline is Feb. 18 and the rumor mill is starting to crank up.

Some people in the know claim the Milwaukee Bucks are dangling veteran point guard Luke Ridnour, who is having a stellar season, along with veteran forward Hakim Warrick and young forward Joe Alexander, whom the Bucks chose with the eighth overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft but have since soured on.

If Ray's contract is expiring, why not just keep the better player and have 18 million off the books next year?

I would do House, Scalabrine, Giddens and Walker for Ridnour and Warrick in a heartbeat. Not sure why Milwaukee would.

I would be interested in Aleksander...I think given a chance he could be solid sf in the future...also he is extremely athletic and young.

Aleksander, Bell(3-4 mio 2012 contract), draft pick(early 2 round or late 1)
for
Scal, Giddens, Walker

Bell would replace House in next 2,5 years...better defender and all around player. Aleksander could be resigned for small money.
-----------------------------------------
Interesting stats:

House 3pt this season
60/160 37%

Bell 3pt
63/160 39%

I considered Bell but decided not to include him since he has a trade kicker and he's thirty.

I believe Giddens is still recovering from knee surgery. So, Milwaukee won't want him with already having Redd out for the season. Hence, they'll want to keep Bell. But Ray's an upgrade over Bell.

My feeling is, Milwaukee could've an interest with the team still in contention for a playoff spot. Ray might bring in more attendance. Right now, your only attraction is Jennings and Bogut.

No timetable has been set for Giddens' return, but he indicated Sunday that he is expecting to miss a month.

Ainge could probably get Alexander alone if Milwaukee is that much disinterested in him.

I think you may be mixing some names up of guys on the Bucks: the big Australian guy with long hair is named Andrew Bogut: not Dan Gadzuric; and the quick young future AS pg is Brandon Jennings and not Luke Ridnour. And I think the Bucks would say no. ;)

If only we could've Bogut... He's like a Vlade Divac for his ability to pass for a center. But this is like wanting Brook Lopez, it isn't going to happen...

But, hey... Perkins is no slouch himself.

I'd gladly trade Davis for Ilyasova.
