Imagine how many more games the Red Sox would have won with Manny if he hustled, thought baseball all the time, and actually had his head on straight at all times.

I'll take a whole lineup of players with Manny's baggage if it'll get me his production.

Wasn't The Great Jose Reyes benched for not running a flyball out in Houston? :wavefinger:

Wrong it was the late innings he hit a ground ball down the first base line he didnt run out because he thought it was going foul but it went fair and he was out at first. He shoulda busted but he didnt. That's probably the first incident that Reyes has had during his career.

Miguel almost knocked Scott Olsen the fck out in the dugout. . I felt so bad for Olsen.

What i'm saying about Manny is if he was always with it he could've been a top five player ever.

Whatever that amount of games is, you can multiply it by 100 and get the amount of games he was WON because of his bat. I get your point, but Manny is one of the greatest hitters of this generation (probably top 5 IMO, I never really broke it down that much) and seemingly did it naturally. I have a ridiculous amount of respect for that guy as a hitter, he is a joy to watch at the plate even if he is a Red Sox.

It's funny how 34Celtic gets on Manny for not hustling but he's never to my knowledge got on Bernie Williams for hotdogging it many times during his Yankee career.

Dude relax, I mean if Manny had something between his ears he could be unbelievable.

Plus, this board didn't exist to my knowledge when Bernie had a career.

BG, you're a Boston fan, correct?

If so, seeing how Hanley is slowly developing into one of the better SS's in the league today, would you still make the trade; given the season Beckett is having thus far?

No. Though Lowell has been nice.

Hanley is hands down the best SS in all of baseball and he's 23. Beckett is one of the 12 or 15 best pitchers in baseball. And he was abysmal last year.

He really has to work on his fielding to become the best SS in all of baseball. You got a future ace who is a proven postseason winner in Beckett and is only 27 years old. If the Sox resigned OC this would have been a no brainer, but when Beckett's won a cy young or two in Boston this won't be an arguement.

I thought you'd say this.

And yeah, if my team was in the position to do the trade, I wouldn't prefer it either, especially in hindsight.

But, if Beckett's arm does lead you guys to another WS title, then all in all it should be worth it, but that's still up in the air...
