Hoffman called, he's pissed at this "Best ever" talk

I'd take Papelbon....Rivera isnt' even the best closer in his own city...we all know who the REAL sandman is ;)
"The guy is an idiot," Pedroia said regarding Cabrera. "I dropped my bat. It kind of freaked me out. I was upset they took him out of the game. He is good to hit. He's 9-15. The guy [stinks]."

If I could pick anyone,it would be the Eck,but between these two I'll go with MO just because of what he has done over the years.

Right now? No question, Papelbon.

right now doesn't matter. I would rather take Mariano, his experience and his 400+ saves to the mound over Papelbon... whatever Mo's problems are right now, theres a good chance he figures it out...

... at least for the sake of my argument I hope he does.

rivera's cut fastball is becoming ineffective, unfortunately. wagner has been lights out all season. but since he isn't a choice i'll go with papelbon

Rivera's been strong of late, the problem is the Yankees can't hold a lead...still better than Wagner

yup, he's so much better than wagner. i mean, wagner's blown 2 saves and has a 5.5 era! oh wait, that's rivera. you've got no business calling anyone else a homer, buddy. you're one of the worst on this board.

Billy Wagner has never been in a big game that he didn't blow, homer.

How about Rivera in the rest of his postseason career? Huh? Torre had the infield in and Gonzo blooped a single over Jeter. I would take a guy who lets up bloop singles any day over a lefty who has an 8 ERA in the postseason

real nice sample size for wagner. been in 6 postseason series. if he has 1 bad inning, his ERA balloons. you do know how ERA works, and that it's not that great of a stat for relievers, right? oh, you're yankees fans. so i guess not :(

rivera's on the way out, homers. you can only get by with 1 pitch for so long.
