I love Andruw as much as anyone, but Vlad is one of the best hitters ever. There's few hitters I'd take before him. Druw has more power and is arguably the greatest CF ever, but it's not enough to make this a close one. Of course, if Andruw starts hitting for average we'll talk. (he's so streaky, but he does have those stretches where he shows you what he's capable of, then he'll start getting real unbalanced at the plate again)

you cant make an argument for jones as the greatest cf ever. i just have to get that out of the way. maybe defensively but thats it.
i dont even know if jones has more power he's played 150 games more than vlad and they're practically tied for career homers.
i personally view jones as an underachiever career wise, its not his fault but he was touted as the next griffey and somewhat fell short of that though by the end of his career his #'s can be as good as griffey b/c he'll have played for so long.

Obviously I'm talking about defensively.

Vladdy
Although Andruw will end up going down as the better player to most people because of his HR total and defensive reputation.
High 5, curious, how many hitters do you include when you say "one of the best hitters ever?"

I wonder when the last time someone has won 20 games with an ERA over 3.75.

'03 Pettitte(4.02) and Ortiz(3.81), and learn to put your thoughts in the right thread.

I'm not going to go through and count. But do you disagree? I'm not saying top 10 or anything, but is top 30-50 too much of a stretch? I think that's a safe answer.

Vlad has to be somewhere up there on the list as one of the best hitters ever. Just because he doesn't get talked about as much doesn't mean that he can't hit with the best of them. his numbers aren't overwhelming but they are solid, very solid. and although he doesn't play as good of outfield as Jones does, he does have an arm so he can do a little bit out there.
I take Vlad.

Is this for like going forward or for their careers up until now?
Andruw will be better going forward, Vlad has had a better career. Bada bing.

Andruw Jones reminds me of Griffey, but with a lower batting avg.

That's insane. I don't know how I did that, but I'm impressed with myself.

I can say for sure he's not top 25. There are probably at least 15 1B basemen who were better hitters. I'm really not sure were he ranks cuz I don't feel like going through it to find out. It just got me when you said one of the greatest hitters ever, cuz to me that usually means at least top 10.

There's how many years of baseball history? You can be top 100 and be considered one of the greatest IMO.

I'll go with Vlad, even thou I think Jones could be one of the greatest CF's of all time, but I think he plays lazy at times and that cost him.
