Who is Your AL MVP?

At the pace these guys are currently at, i'll say A-Rod hits .320 with 55 homers and 150 RBI's. Vlad will hit .320 with 35 homers and 140 RBI's. Maggs will hit about .350 with 28 homers and 140 RBI. These are all great stats. Mags wins in average, but A-Rod has way more homers than both these guys and about 10 more RBI than them. Vlad and Mags are both on playoff teams, so that factors into it. But were would the Yankees be without A-Rod? No where near having a shot at the playoffs. He is more valueable to the Yanks then Vlad and Maggs are to their respected teams. A-Rod is the best player in baseball. He deserves the award.

JJ Putz deserves consideration if the Mariners make a run.
Out of these three I'll say Vlad, ARod if the Yankees make the playoffs. Mags just has so many weapons around him. Who would have ever thought the Tigers would become a model franchise again?

Please tell me your joking saying a reliever should win a MVP award.
And as of right now I'd take A-Rod, with Ichiro right behind him.

Can we just put the trophy in the Mariners bullpen then?

Nah, because the Red Sox bullpen has been better although less used.

I think Justin Morneau should win again this year.

Magglio Ordonez
oh and it's not illogical to think that Putz could win the MVP award. After all, Rollie Fingers won MVP with much less impressive numbers...

No, because he's a Twin. That's it. I don't have any good reasons.

Willie Hernandez 1984 Tigers
Dennis Eckersley 1992 Athletics
Also won AL MVP

Eck was dirty; I remember fearing him so much when the '92 World Series rolled around (the season he saved 51 games, won the Cy Young and the AL MVP).
And then Robbie Alomar dispelled by fear, but that's another story. Eck was an AMAZING pitcher. He was also one of the main guys defining the closer position as we understand it today.

IMO it would have to be Magg O right now. He is having an excellent year and he should be the MVP as of now.

Right now it has to be A-Rod because of his monster 1 month of the season and he is about to make history.

He has so much protection around him and even if the Tigers didn't have him they would still be a great team. Without A-Rod, the Yanks are pretty much nothing

Excellent point. The Yank's do rely on him for basically pulling the game off for them at this point. I guess I can't vote again, but I hadn't really thought of it that way. The tigers would still kick a** w/o Magg right now.
