Two of the best pitchers of their generation, each in the first half of their prime, who do ya take?

Really? Really? Beckett just had a career year, Santana actually could be said he had a down year for himself, and was arguably still better. This season they were pretty close, but come on, what did they do the year before that.

A better question to ask is vintage Pedro v. Santana.

Beckett is considered one of the best pitchers of his generation? Really?

No it isn't Pedro had a better prime than any other pitcher in the history of the game.
Santana compares more to Joe Wood prior to his arm injuries. Great pitcher, but not top ten of all time.

Ummm, Santana. Beckett needs more than one real good year to pass Santana.

Santana, b/c he's been doing it for years in the AL while Beckett has only done it for one. Santana throw more K's and has a better ERA
