re-doing the 1999 draft

Post#1 » by asdfgh » Wed Jun 25, 2008 7:51 pm

nbadraft.net has updated their website and one of the things they added is mock drafts from previous years, all the way back to 1999. I thought of using those mock drafts to play a game where I will re-do the drafts, beginning with the 1999 draft. The reason I only give you the following 3 options is because I want my draft to be a bit realistic. I don't want to include for example someone like Ginobili because he never was in consideration for the third pick.
So please vote and remember that this only a game I'm playing for my own (and hopefully everyone else's) amusement!

So far we have:
1. Chicago Bulls: Elton Brand, Duke
2. Vancouver Grizzlies: Corey Maggette, Duke

Given that bunch I'd go Baron pretty easily again.

You gotta go Shawn Marion. He's been an All-Star 3 times and probably deserved it more. And yes he made an All-Star team before Nash arrived. Shawn Marion is one of the only players who consistently finishes top 5 in the league in both rebounds and steals. He lead the league in steals in 2005. He's one of the most versatile NBA players ever. He made it okay to be an undersized pf in the NBA. He's a future Hall of Famer. He is also a very good shotblocking forward and wing. His career numbers 18ppg, 10rpg, 2spg, 1bpg. Also career 82% FT, 48% FG. He's the best 6'7 rebounder since Dennis Rodman.
