What's going on with Chandler?

Post#1 » by PerkinsFor3 » Sun Nov 23, 2008 1:28 pm

I have been following him since his Chi days and thought he'd improve even more this year, grabbing league leading amount of rebounds, getting some extra points and getting back to his shot blocking ways.

So far I'm dissapointed but I havent been able to ctach a NO game, could you NO fans please give me a heads up? Is he struggling to find his game? still nursing the injury or is it a team thing?

Thanks!!

He sprained his ankle during the first game of the year and missed a couple of games. It might be that it's not 100%. The team as a whole has struggled too, so that doesn't help either. The upside is that we're starting to see more CP3 to Chandler to alley-oops. I think he's going to turn it around. He really needs to get back to rebounding though.

Yeah, I think he may still be hampered by that ankle too. Hasn't been jumping as much as he normally does. I think Peja's ankle may still be bothering him too because he returned awfully fast. Only missed one game after Scott said the ankle looked like it had a "baseball" in it. Also, Tyson's family is away from him and that's also something he isn't used to. His wife is getting ready to have their son in Cali so he's separated from them for a while and I think it may be on his mind some. Read his latest blog on that.

I thought I played better in the last game. I felt more a lot more comfortable and I was playing a lot harder. I felt like since I came back from my injury, I've been a little off. I've been really off. Now, I'm getting back to 100 percent.

I thought I'd be voting for him as an All-Star but he hasn't been playing like one so he's not getting my votes. At least not right now he isn't.

Jerry West has even taken notice. I think both Chandler and West need to seriously get their rebounding up.

When the New Orleans Hornets spent two days in Los Angeles following their victory last Monday against the Clippers, Coach Byron Scott said he spoke to former Laker Jerry West.

The Hall of Famer had a little observation about Scott's team.

"Jerry said one difference about this year's team as opposed to last year is that Tyson Chandler is not playing with the energy he played last year,'' Scott said.
