A little too score first at times and not a good defender. Honestly thought he should have gone back to school another year but he did get better looking for others later in the season. He's young, kinda small, but showed improvement.

Decent back up PG material tho? He'll be 21 by the time the season starts

And he's taller than Jrue

Not sure he's there yet, probably G league to start I'd think but could develop into one. He did improve pretty quickly later season.

As far as I can tell the only thing Carr does well is shoot freethrows and open shots.

But hoping by calling him a scrub he'll actually be super good because I'm usually wrong.

I think Carr is solid for a late second. His athleticism isn't great at all, but I always impressed with how he was able to get to his spots without a lot of effort. He's good with the dribble and generally looks in control when he has the ball. His 3 point shot is a little weird looking but he was making them at a high clip. His 2 point percentage was pretty low, so he will need to work on that. He did a lot of posting up on smaller point guards and most of his shots in two point territory were contested mid range jumpers or jumpers around the post as a result. He has his deficiencies, but he was a solid playmaker and led PSU to the NIT championship without their second best player (Mike Watkins). His dribble is pretty good, but I'd like to see him work on his craftiness within the three point line to allow him to get easier layups, mid-range jumpers, as his lack of leaping ability and explosiveness is to his detriment.

Good luck!

Return to New Orleans Pelicans
