Team direction

Hi...
I'm hoping its okay for a non-Pels fan to start a thread here. Just looking for some local opinion. However, I understand if the mods here would rather close it. That said...

I'm assuming the team direction is to build sensibly around Zion and Ingram.
I'm wondering where that leaves youngish vets like Hart and Williams...or older guys like Moore.

Are they useful to have around, would they be moved (possibly) and if so would the team be looking for youth/draft picks or particular player types?

Not bothering to discuss Holiday...he's either here and a good player, or he's a valuable trade chip. It's more around the team fringes I'm unsure.

(Full disclosure, there was a trade thread on the Celts board that got me to wondering, but not looking to come here and throw fantasy trade ideas around. Just interested in the actual, on-the-court direction of a team I've watched less of than many others.)

I'm hoping they run it back for the most part. If they can upgrade from Favors then go for it but he was an underrated contributor to the team last season so I'm fine with him being brought back.

Lonzo is a bit if a question mark. I personally feel like you give him another season. If he can become efficient with a floater and spotting up for 3 then the rest of his game fits really well and he'll be fine.

Holiday needs to stay, I can't see him demanding a trade and he's just such a great professional who dies everything and sacrifices anything for the team

Ingram and Zion are the focus for star power.

Try and bring back Frank Jackson. Love that kid.

Find a deal for Miller's partially guaranteed contract, find the right guy to play Center, draft a wing to backup Ingram, and let's do this!!

D'Antoni would make a lot of sense in NoLa.

Why don't you guys play Jaxon Hayes? During the draft, I thought he looked like the next Dennis Rodman. As a Pacer's fan, I'd love to have a guy like that play the 4 next to Sabonis to cover for his defensive problems. I see you play Zion at the 4. Is Hayes going to be stuck behind Zion if he doesn't become the 5. I've heard Hayes has some interesting incidents off the court. How does he fit into your future?

Hi guys,

Would you do a Jrue Holiday + JJ Redick + 2020 13th pick for Andrew Wiggins + Jordan Poole + 2020 #2 draft pick + Minnesota's 2021 1st round pick (Acquired through D'Angelo Trade)?

Norman Powell + 29th overall pick

for

Lonzo Ball + 13th overall pick

Holiday/Powell/Ingram/Zion/[Hayes ?]

Not sure who your center will be with Favors as an UFA. But thats starting line-up would be a lock to make the playoffs.

Powell averaged 19ppg in 31mpg on 52/45/83 splits in the 26 games he started this season. He's also a great defender.

The Pelicans are on the clock on the NBA draft forum mock draft. We'd appreciate getting some local fans input! Thanks!

Flip Jrue for Turner and some filler. Then trade the draft pick to Detroit for Kennard.

Lonzo
Kennard
Ingram
Zion
Turner

Get Zion in shape and get a head coach that actually coaches defense. Lonzo is a good defender, Ingram has shown flashes of being a solid defender, Zion was an elite defender in college, Turner is an elite defender, Kennard isn't a good defender, but at least he isn't tiny. Offensively this lineup should fit perfectly with each other and age wise they're all pretty close to each other.

What incidents are you talking about?

He has played much more than expected his first year. He is very raw and needs to understand the game more.

Because they like to push the pace and have the horses to do so at break neck speed.

Hey Pels fans,

A MOD over in the DEN forum says if we were to offer you SG Gary Harris, SF Will Barton, F/C Bol Bol , the 22nd pick and 2022 pick you'd trade us Jrue, can I get your thoughts on it ??

Jax got heaps of minutes. Favors was just better. Jax need some more size and probably needs to learn a lot about anchoring a defense before you give him lots of minutes and expect to make the playoffs.

Showed real promise in the summer league and pre season if memory serves me correctly. Just wasn't knocking down his shots when he was given minutes in the regular season. I like the kid, has got great awareness offensively, a great looking stroke, I think he'll be fine once the **** start falling for him.

It's a nice bunch of pieces and looks like a decent idea. But I just don't see the Pels trading Jrue unless he quietly asks for a deal to get done. He's our leader and role model to the younger guys which we have plenty of. If it was NBA 2k the deal is good, but the Pels wants to compete with these young guys, they need Jrue to keep everyone steady.

Don't think that would get it done at all. The picks are too low and the players do not offer a lot for the future of the team.
