Great graphics as usual...as for the game at hand:

NOLA.com wrote:Despite suffering from back stiffness, Hornets forward Peja Stojakovic participated in Monday's light practice and is expected to start Wednesday night against the Seattle SuperSonics at the New Orleans Arena.

Stojakovic complained of back stiffness with just more than three minutes remaining in the third quarter of Sunday's 87-82 road victory against the Houston Rockets. Stojakovic, who scored two points, did not leave the bench during the fourth quarter.

Stojakovic has not experienced any major back problems this season, but he missed five games last month because of a strained left groin. Last season, Stojakovic missed all but the first 13 games after requiring surgery to remove a disk fragment from his lower back.

"It just got a little stiff, and it's nothing major," Coach Byron Scott said. "He's fine. He went through all the shots and everything at practice today. He's getting treatment and is doing his exercises."

Scott said he would talk with Stojakovic today to evaluate if he's playing too many minutes or not enough. Stojakovic quickly left the Alario Center after practice Monday and could not be reached for comment. But last week, Stojakovic said he was making progress, but still occasionally feels minor discomfort.

"It's getting better," Stojakovic said. "Some nights, I feel all right. Some nights, I struggle a little bit physically. But whatever I can do, and so far I've been able to contribute."

Dont ya think it would be a good idea to start Butler, or even Julian Wright, at small forward and let Stojakovic play 6th man?

Our bench hasnt produced much at all this season (bar Bobby Jackson's explosion (7-7 3pt FG's)) So I think having a defensive minded guy starting the 3, focussing on getting DX, Chandler and MoPete going early and not losing momentum when we sub in Peja could be a step forward.

Any thoughts?

I wanted Julian to start last time we played, so yeah, I agree. I can't argue with BS not wanting to shuffle the starting five around if it isn't absolutely necessary, though.

I really hope Ridnour can push the tempo for us like he did against the Lakers. If not then we stand no chance of ever making this one competitive.

Sonics game thread is here.

Sonics gave the Lakers a challenge in their last game. Hopefully the Hornets can make this a half court type of game as to not allow Seattle to get out into the open court. CP must control the tempo of this game. Hornets need to kick off this homestand with a win tonight. Let's go Hornets!!

Freezing, yes, flooding, no. Love them midwest winters. :x

I heard about that bad weather headed NOLA's way though, from what I heard it should be all cleared up by game time though.

Looking forward to this game, it should be a farily entertaining game the sonics, are lacking an identity but the talent is there. I dont for a second think this game should be in doubt. I expect morris peterson to have a big game him and pargo. Regarding Peja i think he will be fine even explode a little on offense but Byron should limit his minutes and give butler and wright more minutes. My prediction is that we win by 11 points.

Go hornets

Don't think so. He played in their last game vs. the Lakers.

hrm, yeah I just checked the Sonics game thread and saw that. Don't know where I got that from, I'm guessing he missed some games due to injury this year and I misread it as a season-ending type injury.

I was in downtown NO most of the day and there was a little flooding. I would personally like to say thank you to the speeding white SUV who splashed the water on me off of Claiborne. Okay back on topic, by the time I left NO there was no flooding. So I'm hoping to have a clear path to the Arena tonight.

Probably one of Peja's best first halves:

17 pts, 4-7 fg, 2-3 3p, 7-7 ft

All things considered he's played pretty good defense too.

Just one of many reasons why the Hornets are up 19 at half. :lift:

Nothing really to complain about Chandler is rebounding like a machine would like to see him get at least past 25 at this pace it will be more but i dont want to get greedy. But overall a almost perfect half, just have to contain watson a little better he is keeping this game from getting really blown out. Peja playing well looks like no real back concerns im sure Byron will rest him a little more in the second half and the second unit is playing really well, pargo, jackson, and bowen with the hustle. More of the same Hornets

Jackson is 4-4, making him 13-13 in his last 2 games at home.

Nice to see Pargo hitting 3's too. Second unit figures to get a lot of burn this game.
