Upcoming National TV Games (NBATV)

Post#1 » by 2poor » Thu Jan 24, 2008 4:05 pm

This Saturday, your New Orleans Hornets will be nationally televised against the San Antonio Spurs on NBATV (in glorious HD for those of us lucky enough to have it). Apparently the Clippers @ Grizzlies game that was originally scheduled for this slot wasn't attractive enough - lucky us.

And according to the schedule on the Hornets website (http://www.nba.com/hornets/schedule/) the following games will also be on NBATV:

Feb 6 @ Phoenix
Feb 23 @ San Antonio
Mar 8 @ Houston
Mar 22 vs Boston
Apr 1 @ Orlando

Hopefully we will be seeing more nationally televised games on the majors (TNT & ESPN) during the second half of the season.

I believe blackout restrictions will apply for those of you in the home market though. :(

Unless TNT will be doing games on days other than Thursdays,(although they just did Monday games for MLK holiday) Hornets will not be on TNT. I don't think they have any Thurs. games. ESPN is a possibility though.

we're not gonna be on TNT since we don't have a thursday game (or on the tuesday when they're on tuesday) so don't worry about those

here is the ABC schedule on days when the hornets have a game

Date Teams Time (CT)
Sun, Mar 2 Chicago @ Cleveland 12:00 pm
__________Dallas @ L.A. Lakers 2:30 pm
(Hornets at Wizards)
Sun, Mar 16 Dallas @ Miami 2:30 pm
(Hornets at Pistons)
Sun, Mar 30 Houston @ San Antonio 12:00 pm
(Hornets at Raptors)

Sun, Apr 6 Detroit @ Miami 12:00 pm
___________San Antonio @ L.A. Lakers 2:30 pm
(Warriors at Hornets)

now here is the ESPN schedule

Date Teams Time (CT)
Fri, Jan 25 Orlando @ Detroit 6:00 pm
(Clippers at Hornets)
Wed, Jan 30 Cleveland @ Portland 8:00 pm
(Warriors at Hornets)

Fri, Feb 1 New York @ Portland 9:30 pm
(Hornets at Kings)
Wed, Feb 13 Phoenix @ Golden State 8:00 pm
(Hornets at Bucks)
Wed, Feb 20 L.A. Lakers @ Phoenix 8:00 pm
(Mavericks at Hornets)
Fri, Feb 22 Washington @ Cleveland 6:30 pm
(Rockets at Hornets)
Fri, Feb 29 Washington @ Chicago 7:00 pm
(Jazz at Hornets)

Sun, Mar 2 Denver @ Houston 7:00 pm
(Hornets at Wizards)
Wed, Mar 5 Phoenix @ Denver 8:00 pm
(Hawks at Hornets)
Fri, Mar 7 Chicago @ Boston 7:00 pm
(Nets at Hornets)
Wed, Mar 19 Detroit @ Cleveland 7:00 pm
(Rockets at Hornets)
Wed, Mar 26 Phoenix @ Boston 6:00 pm
(Hornets at Cavaliers)

Wed, Apr 2 Indiana @ Boston 6:00 pm
(Hornets at Heat)
Fri, Apr 4
(Knicks at Hornets)
Wed, Apr 9 Phoenix @ San Antonio 7:30 pm
(Hornets at Timberwolves)
Wed, Apr 16 Utah @ San Antonio 7:00 pm
(Hornets at Mavericks)

look for games with two lackluster teams on days when the hornets play somebody good. those are most likely to be picked up by the national networks.

it can happen. hornets-grizzlies was broadcasted in march '06, and they picked up hornets-jazz last year in march.

NBA TV is a joke, I used to get it on my cable, but now you can only get it if you pay more money for a premium sports package. I don't consider NBA TV to be anymore national TV than NBA League Pass, since it would actually be cheaper for me to buy 6 months of LP, than 1 year of the premium sports package.
