Which leads me to this question? Why is there so much hate on these boards for the Hornets? What the h*ll has the Hornets done to anyone?

Hornets hated? IMO Hornets is one of the most loved teams in the NBA. The only people hating on the Hornets are the Utah fans watching Paul's every move, waiting to downplay the things he does; as evident in the NO-DAL series thread.
Just because more people predicted that Mavs will win, doesn't mean NO is being hated on. If NO wins, that just means majority of RealGM fans are wrong. Playoffs experience is a little overrated, but you can't fault fans for picking a team that has been to the playoffs the past 8 years over a new albeit very dangerous and talented team.
West is not being disrespected. No one's even hating on him, people just think what he did was not warranted, and you can say they didn't know the whole story of it (accidental elbow doing more damage than it looked - cut lip). West and Paul are 2 players who are easy to root for; Paul for his greatness and West for his climb from unknown to one of the top PFs in the game.
If you think about it, Dirk is probably the most fan-disrespected star in the league, despite his monumental achievements. He's one of the most humble athletes in the league yet people take time to take offense on what he says. I personally think it has something to do with his race; either that or people are just used to the typical cocky NBA star and believe that's how an NBA star should act, but that's just my opinion.
I hope it becomes a great series, intense but nothing beyond sportsmanship. I see it Hornets in 6 or 7.
