Could Nick Collison be going to NO like this?

OKC sends Nick Collison
NO send Julian Wright + Morris Peterson.

Why for OKC: Wright, plain and simple. He's another young piece to put beside Durant and a perfect player for the direction that team is being built. And I seriously think they would consider taking on MoPete's contract, for one; its a little cheaper - not enough to make a HUGE difference, but still - JuJu's potential will make it a lot easier to swallow. You have to have some vets on a team of youngsters and MoPete is one of those classy guys you'd want to fill that role.

Why for NO - You get rid of a "useless" player at this point, who makes way too much to keep on the roster. In return you get quite the serviceable big man in Collison who fills a BIG hole. Instantly they're better and increase their chances of going deeper into the playoffs all together. However, you lose JuJu (heartbreaker), but for the sake of the team as a whole you have to make the appropriate sacrifices.

I dont see them doing this, Wright may be "useless" now but from all reports on other boards from people with inside knowledge of the Hornets Wright is a part of their future and they think hes a good kid. He just needs to understand the game a bit better and earn more trust. Talent-wise he'd explode in OKC with their running style of play.

I'd say Hornets pass, though Collison admittedly would be a nice piece to have.

Maybe MoPete & a future 1st would sit better?

I think with the recent OKC rumours being interested in Chandler a deal with Collison could be a possibility.

T Chandler for N Collison and Joe Smith.

ESPN's saying Wilcox, Smith and a future 1st. It'd have to be the Thunders pick this year for me to be happy.

Man, I know there were some guys on the Thunder board even saying they'd be cool giving up our top pick and those 2 for Chandler. Obviously what's being said as of now is a lot different than that. Usually fans of teams demand more than fair value, but I guess this is the current economics playing into effect here?
