Question for Hornet's fans about the Draft

Post#1 » by chatard5 » Thu May 28, 2009 12:05 am

Hey all. I am a Pacer fan. Over on our board we are doing a mock draft where each user gets assigned a team. My team is the Hornets! Who are you guys looking to get, or which position are you in need of the most? As of right now we are at pick #14 and nobody has really dropped yet. Thanks a lot!

I think the Hornets should go after either a point guard or maybe even a combo guard to spell CP3 so he doesn't have to play 38-40 minutes a night. Or, a PF/C if they get rid of Chandler. This should be the season Hilton Armstrong begins to look like a real NBA player but I'm not confident about putting all my eggs in his basket. Word has it the Hornets have been in contact with Pargo's agent. They're saying it's because his agent has a number players in the draft so they're not really saying they're going after Pargo but if they end up getting Pargo back, they should go for either a PF/C.

A few players that might be able to help the Hornets...

Marcus Thornton (works out for the Hornets on 6/8)
Patrick Mills
Terrence Williams
Chase Budinger
DeJuan Blair
B.J. Mullens

The Bulls just picked. Some available players are:

Jonny Flynn
Dejuan Blair (I think)
Terrence Williams
Ty Lawson
James Johnson
Eric Maynor
Jeff Teague
Tyler Hansbrough
Chase Budinger

4 of those guys will probably be picked. I am actually a fan of Eric Maynor, so you think if the Hornets were drafting and Maynor was still available they may take Maynor to relieve CP3 a little bit? Or Maybe Teague since he can play the 1 and 2.

I haven't watched much of either Maynor or Teague. Which one is better? Isn't Teague a little turnover prone? Truthfully we could probably use at least 3 of the guys on that list. A point guard, shooting guard and PF/C. I guess I need to do more scouting report.

BPA I think, we are really weak depth wise, we just need a talent infusion, period.
