How is Vernon Wells for Alex Rodriguez?

Right...

Trade within division? Not happening, especially when A-Rod is involved.

Nope...not happening...Like Arod, but not the contract....at least Vernon doesn't get the big cash for a couple of years.

Also....never trade to a division rival....it's never a great idea...see Vince Carter to the Nets.

Actully I don't think that is a bad place to start for a deal don't know if it would actully happen but it could help both teams. For the Yanks they get out of the whole A-Rod mess before it even happens they get a Center Fielder who has won gold golves and has a proven bat and he is signed for the next 8 years. The money issue is a non issue because they were going to throw that money at Carlos Beltran 2 years ago.

For Toronto they get A-Rod can move him back to his natural postion of SS not lose any power, but they must get A-Rod to exercise his option for next year. Then the Jays can bring up their prospect Adam Lind.

It works for A-Rod in that he gets out of New York and the lime light, down side he doesn't get his pick of a team like going to the Cubs at the end of the year. On the plus side he does stay in the AL East and gets to play the Yanks all year long.

Lets have A-Rod stay with the Yankees or go to the NL. If he wants to go then trade him for something young and good. (Not in Divison and hopefully not in the AL.)

Why give up Wells when you can just sign him to a contract after this season?

Arod will be on the west coast next year.. he will have a monster year, opt out and get paid by either Artie Moreno, Sabean or Colletti

If Bonds does retire, Giants easily have the cash to throw and an open position for Arod, SS or 3B

this is going to be a very very unrealistic board. No trades usually ever happen involving stars. Top 100 prospects are whats usually dealt for any star player. Never star for star.

He's already gotten an extension.

I think he was talking about A-Rod. Which is a possability. I just don't think A-Rod if given the choice of going anywhere he wants would pick Toronto. If Toronto wanted to get A-Rod it would most likly have to be through a trade.

I think if A-Rod spent the year there he might decide to stick around and not use his opt-out.

Unless you want to get out from under Wells' massive contract, which I think would be a great idea.

ARod hit a home run last night and is wearing his socks high, no way would I trade him for Wells. Wells didn't hit a homer last night and wears his socks way too low.

Agreed. Assuming he does opt out, really don't see him picking Toronto. Boston MAYBE. But most likely he'll be looking at Anaheim where money, weather, aggressive ownership and proximity to a big media center would make it an ideal spot for him and his family.

Yeah no way he signs in Toronto he needs a big city team to play for. L.A., Chicago, Boston, Anaheim, maybe even Detroit, but I highly doubt Toronto would be one of his choices.
