Lastings Milledge

I was wondering what Lastings would be able to fetch if he was placed on the market. Obviously the Mets need a 2B and a front line pitcher. Any teams that have interest in him?

if we packaged milledge with a pitcher we can get a really good starter. which would be really nice to make a run at the championship

I think getting both for Milledge would be incredibly difficult / impossible... I'd imagine they could land a 2B for him though and maybe a mid-level prospect?

Someone will attempt to go after him after the recent demotion to AAA. Minaya figures that if he gives Green a shot if he fails then turn to Lastings and no hard feelings, but if they were to do it the other weay around Green would not be feeling good about the who9le situation. IMO he evenutally will not be dealt, by mid season he will be the starter and green will be out of a job and probably shipped somewhere if not this season during the off season. I'm a Braves fan but read alot about the NY teams and here so mich about them on the sports radio shows.

Lopez never impressed me really, doubt Minaya pulls a trigger with the Mariners.

Lowry is an interesting pitcher but just not good enough. I dont want to add Durham, he is to old for my liking.

Don't see why. Lopez and Milledge are similar in many respects: good talent and athleticism but they just need to learn to swing the bat a little bit less. Lopez has 20-25 homer upside, which is hard to find at second base. Plug him in there and the Mets could be set for 10 years at 2b, ss and 3b, which is hard to do.

Lowry is pretty darn good, and major league-ready starting pitchers are rare. I can't see how the Mets would pass this up. If you're expecting, say, Matt Cain for Milledge, you're not going to get it.

Milledge's value took a bit of a hit after last year's peformance. I think he could still bring back some pitching but it won't be anything special.

i absolutely love lastings milledge. the guy is serious this year. came early to ST, got in shape (was on a diet all yr), is a 5-tool player, and is only 22.

he played less games then wright/reyes going to the majors. so you have to expect him to struggle. now the players all like him. the rap thing was very overrated and it's unfourtante he got injuried.

only way i trade lastings is if we can get a #2-3 type pitcher...

Not saying they should get him but don't you think the strong veteran personalities in the clubhouse would keep the kid in check?

IMO he would not act up being a small fish in that clubhouse
