This topic is in honor of the great, the only, the magnificent Jason Neighborgall. Last year he posted a statline that reads as follows:

Yes, that's right. 46 BB and 22 wild pitches in 13 innings. Keep in mind that he can dial it up to about 100 and then imagine standing in the batters box against him.

Anway, this thread will be a running tally of this year's performances. Sit back and enjoy.

Well, I don't see anything for least year and he hasn't hit one this year according to the box scores, but I'll keep a tally of that this year when he gets his first one, which I imagine will be during his next 0.0 IP outing.

As long he isn't hitting me, I wouldn't be to scared of facing him. A free walk? I'll take that.

Isn't this the guy that famously broke the PECOTA system?

Haha, I don't know but its certainly possible. I'm so glad the Red Sox were unable to sign him after drafting him.

He just gave up 2 runs in less than an inning and lowered his ERA by 27.

On the bright side he only gave up 1 homerun. Of course that's probably because he doesn't know where the plate is.

Neighborgall sucks so hard. 2 more runs, 2 more walks, 3 more wild pitches, 2 hit batters. Without getting an out.

I really need to see a compilation video of this guy's season. Someone should set it to that old time music they use when someone is doing something clumsy.

Seriously whoever struck out against this guy should probably just kill themselves right now.

I think you guys are going to like the new update. If my math is right, he's faced 21 batters and 12 of them have scored.

Oh my God. That article was kinda sad in the way that you can feel sad for a minor league baseball pitcher.

At first, I thought this HAD to be some kind of joke and that this guy must REALLY suck. Well, he REALLY sucks, but it's the fixable kind of suck.

He's back and he's cut his ERA in half!

Interesting note: all 11 of his non-strikeout outs have been of the groundball variety.

And he was just as terrible as advertised. I, meanwhile, went around to anyone who would listen pointing out his three-digit ERA in Rookie ball.

To those who care, here's what Neighborgall did tonight:

To summarize: three walks, two wild pitches, one run allowed. Yakima warmed Harrington up in the bullpen before Neighborgall was done with his first batter.

What Neighborgall does: his delivery's pretty f**ked, as the Yahoo! article described. It starts off with a leg kick where his knee comes up to his waist but then he reaches out a good ways from it. His body is slightly bent back, and his arm works to correct his imbalance. What ends up happening is his pitches will hit the dirt feet from the plate...and the catcher couldn't block 'em all. He had a couple of flat-out nasty pitches when he gets it in the zone, but nearly everything he threw was too far inside, too far outside, or in the dirt.

My take: homeboy HAS to kick that leg higher. In terms of angles, the angle of his body doesn't give the pitch much of a chance, but with a higher kick he could extend his leg even further out for a little more drive. After that, it's just a matter of correcting the posture of his body, and that is what's taking him some time. He can't do it. I don't think this kid understands that, if he can get that leg up there, he can provide enough motion to bring his body down and through, and it'd be all one nice motion.

He's kinda tough to describe.
