which outfielder do i pick up?

Post#1 » by lakafanfolife » Sat Apr 7, 2007 9:55 pm

geoff jenkins
aaron rowand
aubrey huff
craig monroe
chris burke

i don't know much about baseball and i don't know any of these guys but they are ranked the best outfielders that i can pick up from waivers. so which of them do i pick up? I'm dropping juan rivera for one of them because it says that he broke his leg and he is on DL.

i also picked up mark prior for one of my pithchers but there is an NA next to his name. Is he even playing this season?

Mark Prior is currently in the minors.

I would pick up Huff simply because of his eligibility in other positions, although I'd like to see who else is available because I'm betting you'd be able to find a low ranked OF that would probably do better than any of those 5.

Sowers sucks, Olsen is a lot better. Last year Sowers' ERA and K/9 were the same, that is ungodly bad and weird, that means he was extremely lucky with his ERA.

I'd go with Penny until he starts to slip.

He was also a rookie, only going to get better.

That said, I didnt see Olsen on the list and would take him over Sowers. ;)

i'd pick penny, he'll be solid til the all-star break at least.
if you're lookin for a short term 4th OF check out casey blake. he'll bat cleanup should v.martinez go on the DL.

olsen's good enough to have a sub 4.00 ERA to go along with his K's, but he walks a ton of batters. i wouldnt be surprised if sowers had a better ERA, WHIP and more wins (better team) than olsen at the end of the yr.
i think penny will continue his trend of being a solid first half pitcher (career 3.87 ERA pre-allstar break; 2.91ERA last yr) until his fatness catches up to him.
