Pick up Rich Hill?
Someone just dropped Rich Hill in one of my leagues and I was wondering if I should use a waiver priority on him.
He's apparently having an atrocious spring training but he was great last year and I was still kinda shocked to see him dropped already.
I'd drop Zach Greinke for him, my 21st pick.

Hill, who was a decent third starter for the Cubs last season, gave up six walks in 1 1/3 innings against Colorado. He has a 7.59 ERA over his last four spring training starts and there's starting to be some speculation that Lou Piniella could leave him out of the starting rotation to start the season.
I know that spring stats don't mean much but it looks like he's an enigma right now.
Anyway, I made a waiver request for him. If it doesn't work out I'll pick Greinke back up.

At worst, pick him up and sit him for his first few starts. If he's still walking guys like crazy you can always drop him. Greinke isn't anything to get excited about in fantasy.

No way a healthy Hill doesn't make 30 starts. Listen to BG's advice, pick him up and let him sit for a few starts and then start him if he improves. Spring training is worthless. The only stat that apparently matters is a .200 point jump in a player's career slugging %; that usually indicates a power spike in the upcoming season but I have yet to see anything real concerning even that. mahalo

Check.
What don't people like? Lots of innings, lots of strikeouts, good offense behind him, he plays in the national league. I mean, what more do you want?
Is it crazy to expect 180 strikeouts, 15 wins, a 1.25 WHIP and a 3.9 ERA?
