Penny/Weaver for Kazmir/Burnett

Post#1 » by risktaker91 » Wed Mar 26, 2008 9:44 pm

I just made this trade. I traded Brad Penny and Jered Weaver for Kazmir and AJ Burnett. What do you think?

I think you should be charged with rape.

That's probably one of the more lopsided trades I've ever seen. Weaver and Penny are marginal fantasy players at best and Kazmir and Burnett are elite players. Well, Kazmir is, and Burnett has the potential to be if he's healthy. Regardless you got the two best players in the trade.

I like Weaver this year, but you pretty much got the money end of the deal.

It's not THAT lopsided imo.

In fact, I'd tend to lean more towards the Penny, Weaver side only because their a lot safer. I mean if you have more depth and can afford injuries to Burnett or Kazmir, then that's fine, but otherwise your taking a big chance on their health.

Burnett is a perpetual liability as he seemingly always finds a way to get injured, and there are a few concerns with Kazmir as well.

Weaver on the other hand has had a great spring and could be in line for a big year. Penny is a horse, and on a team like the dodgers in that stadium could mirror last years numbers.
