So why did I have to drop Schilling then? Anyways I'll drop David Weathers to make room for Bourn.

If you will all refer yourselves to the first page of the thread, we have a prospect draft order. The proposition to expand flexibility in the minor league systems were passed nearly unanimously. I'm currently in New Haven waiting for the 10:09 metro to Grand Central so I'll bid you all adieu for now. I'll post the full draft order when I get back to New York as well as a summary of each person's minor league system.

You needed to drop Schilling because you were over the max roster size (25 players). Most people were (myself included) so it's not a big deal, but then for the ROOK/FA draft, already being at 25, you needed to drop another player to fit Bourn onto your team.

So what is the new minor league rule? We are having 4 rounds this year but you can have as many minor leaguers as you want?

Also,

I have SSK's first round prospect pick from our Lester/Hoffman trade last offseason. Would you mind updating it for me? Thanks. mahalo

Yes, that's relatively what it is. It's a maximum of 10 players in each system just to keep someone from abusing the flexibility and carrying 20 prospects or something. I remembered you telling me about a draft pick, but I forgot which one. I'll update the order.

A reminder to everyone not to name-drop prospects during the draft.

That's what I thought. I don't see how someone could amass more than 10 prospects unless they keep drafting latin bonus babies.

I also have your second round pick from the Cabrera trade as well.

I'm going to drop Troy Patton and add Justin Upton to my active roster for giggles.

I've thought about the trade offer safan and I'd like to accept but Gorzelanny got abused a lot at the end of the season and I am weary of that. I offered up another possible trade. mahalo

Yeah, I was either gonna offer you Gorzellany or Irishgashousen. I figure with Rivera and Saito as my main two guys to earn me saves, I'd be fine giving up a guy who might have injury problems like Isring, especially after drafting CJ Wilson in the free agent draft. Plus, I need a third baseman and I think Rolen will do better in a new atmosphere.

And I assume we can start adding players off the waiver wire so long as they aren't in anyones farm system, yes?

I thought about asking for Saito but Rolen is an injury risk as well. I think Soria and Sherrill are going to get me some saves this season but if I can add another good closer like Izzy, I might actually be real competitive in saves. I like Gorzellany but I read Will Carroll way too much and he is not pleased AT ALL with his usage pattern at the end of the season and I worry about injury risk as much as I do with projection. Especially young strikeout pitchers who get abused late in the season.

I have Jim Thome on the block if anyone needs a bit more pop in their line-up. I'm looking for some infield depth (1/2/3rd, I'm set at SS) or another closer. mahalo

Guys, I probably should have mentioned this earlier but I'm going to Spain over my spring break. I'll have wireless once I'm over there but I'm not so sure about in the airports. I'm roughly leaving around 4 30 PM on Tuesday and I get into Madrid on during the middle of the day on Wednesday. If someone could kindly just keep track of the picks (just copy and paste from the first page) I would greatly appreciate it. I'll leave a list with someone if my pick comes around.

Sett, when you get a chance could you email Benny and let him know he is up? I know you're on spring break or whatever but if you get the chance to let him know this is going on, it would be great because I'd love for the draft to be done by Opening Day and I'm almost positive we'll be doing this until May unless you email people. mahalo

Yeah well... believe me I've PMed him... like a week ago but he's been kind of MIA. I'll try e-mailing him instead.

Benny said earlier that he rarely checks RealGm anymore so that might be why he was MIA for the past week. Maybe if he knows the draft is going on, he can check in more than once a week. mahalo
