How do you expect better than 30-40 HR a season?

I'll let you know dick wizard.

Yeah, I forgot to do a check before posting and I went back to check and realize I had done messed up. I do like him and would be willing to trade for him but knowing you, it's going to cost me an arm and a leg. Send me a PM with a proposal.

Bigboy, when I get a chance to look I'll see if I can come up with a proposal.

Also Sett, could you fix my team page. I'd do it myself but I'm not a mod anymore. Could you:
Add McGee and Aherns to my minor league team
Drop Lofgren from my system
Drop McPherson from my major league club and add Wieters to it. Much appreciated bro. mahalo

Hey, when did you guys retire? Why relinquish your powers unless someone makes you? Frankly, I don't do much more than pay attention to this thread, but I guess part of why I don't catch flak is because fantasy baseball is kind of a dead forum.

I'll handle keeping BBJ up to date though, don't worry.

I've decided to pass on the trade offers that I've gotten. Instead with the third pick I will select first baseman from the Reds organization Yonder Alonso.

If you're still interested in whats his face SSK, send me a proposal. I'll consider both guys that you want but, like I said, it's probably going to be more expensive than its worth for you.

And Ty, my dick wizard comment was directed towards BBJ, not you.

I was forced into retirement because I was being a **** mod. Some kid came to one of the MLB forums, pimping out his message board so rather than deleting the post, I simply edited it to www.clownpenis.fart. Howard has no sense of humor and after a few incidents like that, I was shoved off as a mod. I'm rarely on RealGM anymore so I don't give a hoot. mahalo

Ozzie Guillen said like two days ago that Alexei Ramirez is his long term shortstop and Beckham will have to switch positions. Why so many of you passed on a can't-miss prospect like Alvarez is beyond me. Miguel Cabrera has had far more postgame snacks than Alvarez and I'm happy to have him.

To be fair, just like Miggy has had to move off third base, Alvarez playing first is less valuable than at third.

Then again, I was hoping you taintburgers were going to let him keep falling so I could snag him with my second pick. I still like Cahill but I do need corner IF help. mahalo

The steal of the draft with Alavrez? Can't say I'm a huge fan, there are 4 or 5 guys I'd still take over him.

I'll take Michael Stanton.
Image

Pros:
Best Power in minors, starting in June hit a HR every 9.7 AB (29 HR, 281 AB)
One of the youngest players in Low A (youngest American born)
Huge frame that is still projectable and still a little raw, great athlete who could have also played football at USC

Cons:
Strikeouts
Did play in a HR friendly park this year, so his HR totals are a little inflated, although his road stats are just as good as his home stats.

The Alvarez pick was good, especially if you like BA, as he will likely be the top ranked player according to BA in this draft. Like Stanton he has strikeout issues though. He also has questions about his hamate bone which sapped his power and hurt him this year at Vandy. Honestly none of the picks have been great/bad, because all these players are so close. Although I'm not sure how much Alonso will translate to fantasy though because he is a guy who walks a ton, but he is still a very good hitter.

Sett, go ahead and drop Duran from my farm.

I was thinking the same thing about Alonso. I think he is going to be a great hitter in real life and he'll benefit playing with Bruce, Votto, and Phillips and in that ballpark. But I have a feeling he's going to be a better player in real life just because of our basic scoring categories.

The last three picks were my next choices because I wanted to add some position player depth. Looks like I might be adding another ace pitcher to my staff unless Benny comes and screws things up.

Could you send Benny an email Sett. I'm not sure how often he comes around these parts. He probably rarely does during the off-season. mahalo

I'm surprised you liked Stanton. I almost didn't pick him because I figured since he wasn't a high profile guy he may slip to my second pick. The power was way to good to pass up though, only 8 players have ever had a 9.7 AB/HR in MLB history. While it would be insane to project him to actually do that, being that young and having that much power is scary. If I had to guess BA wouldn't have thought Stanton was a top 5, maybe even 10 player in the spot I picked him too, but to me he profiles as the best fantasy option. I'm expecting him to not put up the eye popping numbers this year though because his new hitting environment will be one of the worst in the minors.

I'm with you guys on Stanton. I think he was to this draft what David Price was in the dispersal draft. Everybody was sort of hoping that everybody else would forget about him until their pick, but knew he was too good to make it past probably Chach or bove at the latest. I'm surprised there's not that much hype around him. He seems like the next in the line of those toolsy outfielders like Bruce, Rasmus and Heyward.

Well the strikeouts are a pretty big concern. Which is the same reason I wouldn't say Alvarez is can't miss. If he would have had a K% of 20% or less he would probably be considered a better prospect than Heyward already, or at least there with him. But I also think Heyward is being a little overrated, some people are putting him as the #3 prospect, which I don't see. Also, Stanton wasn't a huge amatuer prospect, although still a very good one, so theres still probably a little doubt in peoples mind about his greatness, his size/youthfulness/athleticism/rawness hopefully mean his huge breakout this year was real though.
