Sticking in Ohio with my next prospect pick. This pick comes as a huge need for me in the future, now hopefully he pans out.

I'm taking catcher from the Indians organization, Carlos Santana.

I hope you catch scabies sunshine. First you're difficult with a trade and now you and BBJ swipe my next two picks. Raging homosexuals.

Brett Wallace 3rd base St Louis. mahalo

Santana was one of your two next picks? Really?

I mean, it's an OK pick and all but there are at least 5-10 better prospects out there. I'll cut SSK99 some slack because he probably has important things going on in his life and can't dedicate time to serious research so he probably grabbed the first rated prospect he came across but you Chach? Are potato famine lectures really that time-consuming?

Sorry to break it to you Chach, but Brett Wallace was already picked.

I actually never thought Santana would be there when I picked. But again I don't know a whole lot about this stuff anyways.

That famine lecture sucked. I learned absolutely nothing from it. Maybe that speaks to my nerdiness. Plus the girl wasn't even the hot co-ed I was hoping she would be. She was like 30. And I was seriously the only person under 45 there who didn't know the speaker. Give me two weeks and I totally could have done a better job.

Santana is a young catcher who is partly blocked by Victor. I'm expecting him to split time with Victor at C and possibly play another position too. Cleveland is a smart front office, having both guys platoon at catcher and first would go a long way saving wear and tear on their knees and keep both bats fresh.

I'll go with Greg Halman OF Seattle. Just what I need, another friggin OF. LaPorta better move to first base. mahalo

Not if your going off of your previous standards that made Chacin a good pick. Santana was 5 star for Goldstein, and was rated above LaPorta by BA. Most definitely top 50 prospect, maybe top 30, and the 2nd or 3rd best catcher prospect with Posey in a position that is currently pretty deep in young players. The risks with him are if his breakout was real, given his age, but it looked pretty real and with his nice BB/K and for fantasy purposes he walks a lot.

I didn't get the comment about Posey. I think it's pretty set in stone that Wieters is the top catching prospect with Posey next and then Santana, Skipworth, the Texas guys and a couple others. What did that mean that there are a lot of young guys in San Fran? Sandoval is pretty obviously not a catcher in the long run and Santana is blocked by an All-Star (who plays there part time albeit) and a good regular in Kelly Shoppach.

It means only people who own him in a fantasy league think Posey is without a doubt better. I'd rather have Posey myself, but it isn't by much.

First sentence, huh? And what are you talking about, Sandoval's best position is catcher, he is better there than both 3B and 1B, it just so happens Molina is also there. It also works out great for me that Sandoval can clearly play 3 positions, as he will get to play more games that way and still be eligible for C.

You guys are delusional.

A) Everybody knows Sandoval is moving, that Molina has one foot out the door and Posey is the future catcher in San Francisco and the best actual catcher of the three.
B) Nobody is really sure what's going on in Cleveland other than that Martinez will probably play a lot of first. Shoppach is pretty young and Santana had a breakout year, but it all really depends on how all three play next.
C) Skipworth is an equivalent type of talent to Posey but he's probably not going to be in the majors until 2012 or something, giving him more space to screw up, therefore making him an inferior prospect. Posey will probably be ready by the start of 2010.

I can't wait to see Posey catch all 162 games in a season. Posey is a better defensive catcher than Sandoval, but that doesn't mean Sandoval won't get over the few games a year he needs to be eligible at C. So while Posey gets to take the majority of the work behind the plate, my guy will just quietly qualify by catching his games he needs off, then playing a less demanding position on the body in the field in 3B/1B. While being able to play more often too, yay.

Wieters >>> Posey > every other catcher in the minors. I think we can agree on that.

Because the Hall of Wieters is yet to be built. Should be open in Spring 2009.

I'm sorry I'm holding things up guys. I need to make room on my major league roster in order to promote LaPorta to open up a space on my farm team. I have two trade proposals I'd like to hash over before I cut someone. I can get in touch with Stud but I don't know how to get in touch with Kaz. Any idea Sett? I can make my pick to keep things rolling if Sett will let me carry 11 guys in my farm system for a week or we can keep things on the level for the next few days until I work something out. mahalo
