Yeah, Ubaldo reached his innings limit and BG had to either pick him up or renounce his rights to him. I believe it's in this thread.

I too, have a stacked OF so I'm in no rush to add more. I'd be more open to a Meche for Ludwick deal but Lackey is too much. mahalo

So you're saying we should do Gil Meche of the 4.55 ERA for Ryan Ludwick of the 19th ranking, .292, 23 HR, 69 RBIs, 64 Rs and 4 SB? Look at Ludwick's performance, compared to, say, Chase Utley. Exactly the same. Care to include LaPorta, Kershaw or Porcello?

Actually, now that I look at it, you've got the one outfield as stacked as mine, so I don't understand why you'd trade for even a stud like Ludwick.

I think every person in the league would take Vlad, Beltran, Ichiro, Ludwick, Pence and Delmon over Markakis, Kemp, Bruce and Francouer.

This is a keeper league dude. Lackey has been a top starter for years, Ludwick has had half a good season. Enjoy trying to take someone to the cleaners on him.

I'm hoping that the Indians move LaPorta to first because I'm going to have an OF of Hamilton/Sizemore/Lee/Braun and Laporta next season if they don't. I could use some help at SS if anyone really wants to float me an offer.

Are we talking about this season or going forward? Frenchy sucks but Beltran and Ichiro are having average years for them, Vlad is getting older as well, and Delmon Young is garbage wrapped in expectations. If you could get another decent starter in the second group over Francouer and it wins hands down. mahalo

I'll concede, Beltran has been slumping a tad lately, but he's still on projection for 110 R, 25 HR, 110 RBIs, 25 SB. Name me ten other guys in fantasy ball who do that for you. As long as Ichiro hits .300, scores 110 R and has 55 SB I'll be happy with him. Delmon, well I have to say, Delmon has just been gaining momentum all season to begin living up to his billing. I wouldn't be surprised to see him start to tear it up in the second half with 10 more HR and a .320 AVG.

The important thing really is that I've got a team of veteran performers who I'm confident will perform in the clutch down the stretch.

Hey guys, I've been keeping tabs on league activity (it's fine not to post in the league thread, although conversation is always nice) and I'd like to announce that I intend to replace two managers in the offseason: Bleeding Green and kg2005. I will allow that if there is some sort of drastic turnaround they will not be lame duck managers, but their inactivity has become a detriment to the league. I will also be monitoring the activity of SportsWorld and I will be in contact with all three of these managers in the near future.

I would like to restore this league to being the most competitive on RealGM and one of the better leagues in the sports community and that simply can't happen with 3 or 4 largely inactive managers. I accept responsibility as I was the one who believe BG when he said he was recommitting himself and I was the one who approved SportsWorld just this past offseason.

Hopefully we can correct all of this, enjoy this season and look forward to our best season yet in 2009.

Alright guys, here's what going on with the inactive managers. I'm making a concerted effort to bring this league back to a fully active 12-team league where the last place team still thinks he's got a shot at making the playoffs (or at least then decides to try to position himself better for the future).

I sent out emails to kg, BG and SportsWorld. Kg thanked us for making the league a great experience for him but said he'd have to step down. No response from the other two, but that's sort of telling in itself. I've looked over the rosters and kg's team is an instant contender. The other two, not so much.

Here's my plan: Put the players from those three teams into a big pool, get three new managers and have them go at it in a distribution draft. Graduated prospects will be added to that group while regular prospects will go in a similar prospect distribution draft. On top of making the teams more even, I think it will make new managers get more into the league because A) everyone likes a draft and B) they'll have the players they picked, not the ones they inherited. It could even be fun for all of us, because it definitely gives us a chance to pick on the new guys (or praise them where it's warranted.) Think that sounds fair? Let me know.
