I'm going to bed...

Since the draft doesn't officially start until tomorrow at 12, I have until 10pm tomorrow to pick I assume. I won't take that long, but it won't be first thing in the morning if my turn comes up.

biggest snake move ever! wow
im honestly in awe of that move. such a snake.

*hear the sound of morgan freeman voice as you read this*

in the wild there are many animals, the cheapest is the snake known as MGD. it can only be tracked by the trail its slithering belly leaves in the wake of its pray, and with its folk tongue it spews lethal venomous vile on its unsuspecting victims. it prefers to stay as low as possible to avoid the constant weight of the worlds morality and righteousness that the other animals live with. while others animals in the wild try and help those who make terrible, stupid, bad moves (by mocking them). the snake creeps in slowly and methodically picks apart the forums weakest animals. it feeds off the slow, and dim witted. its there the snake grows strong. burrowed in the underbelly waiting for the weak to stumble so it can strike. its venom is not very potent (comparable to a bullsh*t 8th round pick) but to the weak animals it prays on, its deadly.

this animal should not be considered dangerous. but its methods are relentless. beware of the snake.

OK you can now view available players via the Players tab on the yahoo league site.

If the league chooses to veto, I would also be in favour. The trade just makes zero sense. A last place team trading one of the top offensive prospects at a position not easy to fill, for what amounts to a 20th round pick???? (12 keepers + 8 rounds). Yahoo ranks him 133.

Veto. He's worth a second or third round pick to me.

There doesn't appear to be any collusion involved. You look at Ackley's stat line from last year and it doesn't blow you away -- there are always players who are projected to be awesome, Ackley being one of them, but sometimes managers don't know, and sometimes they don't care.

If he wants to trade Ackley for an 8th rounder, and both teams agree to the price, I'm fine with it.
MGD's going to mismanage it regardless.

+1 - Gary knows

I offered him an 8th rounder because he wanted to just drop him for his last round pick!
I would be a fool to offer a 2nd or 3rd round pick when he really just wanted to drop him.
He accepted.
That's how it happened.

...as much as it was a snake move, and that its probably an unfair price to pay for the player... you cant veto this trade.

i vote no veto.

dont be jealous nick, you would have made the same move if you thought of it.
but i doubt bulls would traded with you after you called him a moron tho. lol
at least i was subtle about it.

My posts weren't anything about sour grapes or that it was a bad move by Mike. Its because I cannot for the life of me comprehend what makes him think Ackley isn't even deserving of a roster spot, especially given his team is so bad he kept Vernon Wells and his worst-in-the-league batting average. Is this 2005? Is he hoping to land Chone Figgins or Jack Wilson in the 8th round instead? It just makes zero sense to not keep him, let alone trade him for half of what he is worth; he could have gotten a better pick if he simply stated he was interested in trading him.

Everyone is an adult and can make their own decisions.

Veto's are there to prevent collusion not to protect teams. There is no collusion here.

They are not there to protect those with no knowledge as basically, that is saying that the league thinks you can't run your own team, so we will make the decisions for you.

Broadway wanted to get rid of a player.
That was his decision and he posted his dislike for that player.
I wanted that player. I made an offer.
Either no other offers were made, or no greater offer was made.
Broadway accepted.
Deal over.

That being said, if the commish or the league wants to protect a team, and in turn basically say he isn't capable/smart enough to run his own team, then by all means void the trade.

Anybody ever sit in the HSBC VIP section at Rogers Center?
Just got tickets this morning for Sept 15th vs Boston, looking forward to being waited on, but that's about all I know about it. When I google it, everything I find seems geared towards season ticket holders.

fair enough
couldnt care less about what happens here tbh
a veto before the draft even starts does seem silly
no need to vote

Never sat there. Seems like a good time though. Dan possibly has?
We sat together in the Rogers box once and if it's anything like that, it will be a great time.
