Keeper Info (12 possible in total):
At the end of each season, each manager will choose 10 players of any position. You may also choose an additional keeper at any position.
Rookie keepers: you may also keep 1 position player with no more than 2 years of MLB service, or less than 650ABs, and 1 pitcher with no more than 2 years of MLB service or less than 250 IP for a SP or 100IP for a RP. The rest will go into the free agent pool along with all rookies for the next season.

Lottery Information:
We will be using the website http://www.random.org/sform.html to generate the draft order (random sequence of 1-100). I will get someone who is not in the league to run it for us so there is no bias.
The lottery will be much like an NBA lottery, where the last place team will get the most “balls” and greater odds of getting the first pick, but no guarantee so as to prohibit tanking on purpose.
12th place receives 1-30, 11th place receives 31-55, 10th place receives 56-75, 9th place receives 76-90, 8th place receives 91-97, 7th place receives 98-100.

Offline Draft Rules:
Each manager will have 10 hours to make his/her selection.
If you do not make your pick within your 10 hour time limit, your pick is skipped and the draft will move along to the next manager, and the next and so on. When skipped, you can make your pick at any time when you check back in.
If you feel you will not be able to make your pick when your time is due to come up, please email a contingency list to myself, MGD or another manager who you trust to make the selection for you.
Once you make a pick, it is final. There is no changing your pick. You are not to edit the post that you make your pick in.
You may trade draft picks at any time after the lottery. You may also include players in your offline trades prior to the start of the season without experiencing the pending period you will experience during the season.
Once the draft begins, there will be a player moratorium, wherein you cannot mention ANY players’ name that has not yet been selected.

Add/Drop/Waivers:
There will be a 2 day waiver period for dropped players.

Disabled List:
Each team will be able to assign 2 players to the disabled list at a time. Players eligible will have a red DL beside their position, meaning they are out at least 15 days.

There will be 15 rounds to fill out your roster again, plus any additional picks needed from trades/less keepers.

ACTIVE MANAGERS ONLY:
The goal of keeper league’s is to make this multiple seasons, so please, only join if you want to be a serious part of this for years to come!
When posting that you want to be a manager in this league, please provide your e-mail address so that when the league is created on Yahoo I can send you an invitation – also for trade purposes.
Inactive managers will be replaced at season’s end with no hesitation.

The draft is done on this site, and the results are entered on Yahoo when it's complete.

I copy and paste the teams on the first page into an Excel spreadsheet, then strikethrough the names once they're taken (or kept). Then I find a list of the top 300 players and largely ignore it, but once in a while it jogs my memory of who's still out there.

Once the draft starts, to avoid picking a player who's already been taken, use CTRL + F and search the name on the first page. It will save you (and us) the aggravation.



Nick or Dan will enter all of our picks, round by round, in the second post on this page, which is why all it says right now is 'draft'.

I don't know when this garbage started, but this Yahoo! Fan Contributor network is ruining fantasy sports. Used to be in the good old days, you could click on a player, see his stats, and read some expert analysis about him or get updates on injuries.

Now, in order to find that same news, you have to sift through an avalanche of poorly written, heavily biased articles authored by dimwitted, intermittently sober 'fans' who mistake their 'decade of fantasy sports experience' with knowledge and credibility. I swear to God I read an article last night on the 5 best outfielders for 2012, and 3 of them were Cincinnati Reds.
What a waste of time.
