24 team baseball dynasty start up

Point scoring will follow a traditional point scoring system, rather than a category roto. (Think fantasy football, EXAMPLE: HR’s are worth 6 points: 1 for a hit, 1 for a run, 1 for an RBI, and 3 for each base touch not including 1st base).

League Structure: CBS Sports or Fantrax

Buy in $205 ($5 x 24 for CBS site fee = $120) (Free if on fantrax)

24 Teams, 12 AL and 12 NL.

2 Divisions per league (6 teams each)

Triple header matchups

1 player pool for all 24 teams. Rosters will max at 45 and the minimum will be 35. Minor league players will be available for drafting in the first-year draft, as well as current MLB players. Lineups will be submitted weekly. I understand that some players may get hurt mid-week, this is like losing a football player in the 1st half, sucks but is part of the fantasy life. There is currently no pitcher start restrictions, however, we can put it to a vote. There will not be a free agent wire so plan your draft accordingly. Free agents will be available in the draft following each season. Draft rules will be addressed below.

Breakdown of roster:

Starters:

C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, OF, OF, OF, UTL, UTL

8 Pitchers (can be a combo of relief and starters)

Total of 18 starting players each week.

Bench/Reserves: 17-27 players.

Draft:

The opening year draft will be 40 rounds. Draft order will be a random drawing, video recorded, and posted to youtube for authenticity. All players are available in this draft. Following the opening year draft, only rookie players and league free agents will be available. There is not a “supplemental” draft, as both rookies and current league free agents will be allowed to be selected during each draft following the inaugural. Each draft following the opening draft will consist of 13 rounds. Rounds 1-12 will be rookies and free agents. Round 13 will be a “Rule 5” selection. Rule 5 selections will allow opposing teams to select one MINOR LEAGUE player who is not currently playing in the MLB yet from another team’s roster. The selected player MUST be a reserve player. If you are an owner and would like to keep a Minor League player, simply place them in your starting lineup after the season is over and they cannot be selected. MLB players are ineligible for Rule 5 selection. If a team cannot use their Rule 5 due

to lack of quality players, or simply does not want to select a player off another roster, this pick can be used on Rookies and free agents like picks 1-12. Draft order will be determined by overall record, followed by the team with the fewest amount of points. Essentially, tanking is allowed for the number 1 pick. Picks can be traded throughout the year.

Payouts and Playoffs:

6 teams from the AL and NL will qualify for the playoffs. Two division winners, two division runner ups and 2 wild card winners. Wild cards will be decided by Overall Record, followed by League Record, followed by Points For.

Division winners will be decided by Overall Record, then Division Record, followed by Points For. Wild card teams will play each other the first week of the playoffs. The number one overall team from the NL will play the wild card winner, same for the AL. The other two division winners will face each other. Once a league champion has been crowned for each league, they will face for the World Series.

Payouts are as follows:

$5 x 24 = $120 for site fee (or free if on fantrax)

24 teams x $200 = $4800

Wild Card Qualification: $100 x 4 = $400

$4400 remaining

Division Runner Up: $200 x 4 = $800

$3600 remaining

Division Winners: $300 x 4 = $1200

$2400 remaining

League Winners: $400 x 2 = $800

$1600 remaining

World Series:

Winner: $1000

Loser: $600
