Talk about who is hot to be picked up, upcoming injury bumping someone's value, someone's value slipping to the wire, any sleepers and so on...

If Curtis Granderson is somehow available (like he was in my Yahoo league), pounce all over him. His stroke looks a little tighter and he's got the green light to steal basically whenever he wants. If you play in one of those bizarro leagues where defense counts, he made one error in CF last season to boot.

Heh yea I was lucky enough to get him in a 12 team h2h league.... although errors do count and that did hurt last week

But yea I like his positioning atop the Detroit order. If he can improve his OBP I could see him getting 30+ steals and around 120 runs although that may be a little generous...

Solomon Torres of Pittsburgh (3 saves already)
Al Reyes of Tampa Bay
Two really cheap options I picked off waivers because I slacked on getting closers in the draft.

RP's/Closers currently available:
Torres
Ryan Dempster
Armando Benitez
Jorge Julio
Akinori Otsuka
Joel Zumaya
Mike Gonzalez
Adam Wainright
Fernando Wainwright
Any suggestions?
hmm, seems like a shallow league. what are you lookin for statswise? cuz the best pitchers on that list wont get you saves, yet. zumaya is a top 2-3 setup man. he'll get you a ton of K's and awesome ratios. wainwright could turn out to be a top 30 starting pitcher IMO. both could also eventually close later in the yr depending on the health of their respective team's aging closers.
if you're lookin for saves now i'd prolly go with torres. if the pirates win any games at all it'll be by slim margins, which means more save opportunities cuz they have a decent young staff and a weak offense.
same could be said about benitez and his team, but i just dont trust him yet. i was a dempster owner last yr and he sucks, i'd keep my eye on bob howry and mike wuertz should dempster start to suck again.
julio already got pulled once for a save opp and blew another save, keep an eye on taylor tankersley or henry owen for the marlins. in regards to otsuka, gagne's off the DL on friday. take that for what its worth.

It's an 8 team league, but with a large pot for winnings, so the talent is definitely there on each team. I currently have Hoffman and Wagner as my closers, so perhaps a reliever would be more beneficial to me than a closer. It's a yahoo league with typical pitcher scoring, with IP, Wins, Saves, ERA, K's and WHIP.
Thanks for your advice, I'll probably look towards Wainwright or Zumaya.
