He's available in my league and has given up 2ER and struck out 17 in his last 10 appearances. Is he on his way to earn his closer spot back in Houston or to be traded to a team that needs a closer? I currently have Putz and Saito as my relieves, but would consider picking up Lidge as an insurance policy/trade bait. It would come to down dropping Daniel Cabrera or Jason Hirsh. Worth the risk?

Lidge is unreliable. Even if he gets his closer role back, which I doubt he will, he'll probably end up losing it. You're better off finding someone else.
