Would you have traded away chase utley for brett myers 3 WEEKS INTO THE SEASON, IGNORING how both of them performed after the trade was made?
Was it a fair trade AT THE TIME?
Utley was batting 230 with 3 HR and 9RBIs and was struggling at the time.
Myers was the #1 starter for Philly before the season started but was demoted to relief prior to the trade and was 0-2 with an ERA of over 8.

Not at all. 3 weeks into the season you should be taking Utley's .230avg with a grain of salt, knowing he is far better than that.

Wasn't Utley a 1st-2nd rounder at the beginning of the season, I think its safe to say Myers wasn't.

Not much else to say here, except I hope you got Utley.

No I wasn't the one that got Utley, the commish of my league got Utley. The reason why I ask is because I proposed a trade of Penny for Ichiro a week ago and after it went through, the commish of my league says it's an unfair trade and vetoed the trade. So I bring up this trade he made 3 weeks into the season and he says it is a fair trade at the time because Utley was struggling and ranked really low at the time and he was trading the #1 starter for Philly even though he got demoted to relief.

Sounds like you've got a crappy Commissioner.
Both trades were not good, but its pretty shady for him to let his slide through and not yours.

Who in there right mind would trade Utley for Myers?
Myers struggled to start the year as well. Obviously, that's why he got sent to the bullpen.
What a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) trade. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Such is the life of a public league.
