Which Pitcher to Pick up?

Post#1 » by Bac2Basics » Mon Mar 31, 2008 5:22 am

I've got an open slot on my roster after a trade that I should probably fill with a pitcher

My current pitching staff: Johan Santana, Dice-K, Felix Hernandez, Jered Weaver, Tom Glavine, Rich Harden, Joe Nathan, K-Rod, Jason Isringhausen

Below is a list of available pitchers, which one should I choose?

Josh Shields
Barry Zito
Ian Snell
Brad Lidge
Jon Lester
Shawn Marcum
Greg Maddux
Brad Lidge
Nate Robertson
Randy Johnson
Jake Westbrook

Any ideas on which to choose?

I'm assuming you mean James Shields. If so pick him up. Then drop Glavine for Snell.

Once Randy Johnson and Brad Lidge get off the DL and prove themselves with a few innings, I would pick those two up and drop the two you just picked up (if it's a one year league). Also depends if you only want three relievers if so, drop Izzy for Lidgey and keep either Shields or Snell, it's a tossup, although I slightly prefer Shields.

Okay, now just send $5 to my paypal account and your well on your way to the championship.

Yeah if somehow no one in your league owns Jamie Shields, you've gotta pick him up.

Depends if you have an open DL spot. If you do I would pick up Lidge and store him there. Then pick up Shields.
