What's the status on the d-backs owner wanting a new stadium?

A few years ago, the diamondbacks owner allgedly wanted fans to pay for either an upgrade or a new ballpark for the diamondbacks. I guess the state or whoever told the owner to pound sand. I checked out google recently & all I seen is that the team is talking about moving to las vegas. Which seems impossible because there's reports that the a's will be joining the raiders in vegas in a few years. I only seen pictures on tv or computer about the d-backs ballpark, I like it. If I could attend ballparks, zona's ballpark would be 1 of the ballparks i'd go to. If its best to just renovate, do it. Everybody can't afford brand new.
