Livan Leaving?
Some of the names remain the same in the trade rumor mill: Octavio Dotel, Mark Loretta, Ty Wigginton, Jose Contreras, Jon Rauch. Heard a new and interesting name Saturday.

"Livan Hernandez," said a talent evaluator Saturday evening. "I'm surprised that nobody's talking about him, because he's out there [on the trade market]."

D'Backs Gauging Interest In Livan
23rd July, 2007 - 7:40 am
Star-Ledger - Jose Contreras might not be the hottest Cuban pitcher on the trade market. According to officials with two different teams, who asked not to be identified because talks are ongoing, the Diamondbacks have been calling around to see how interested teams would be in Hernandez. Arizona is fading in the NL West and is considering dealing Hernandez (the half-brother of Mets pitcher Orlando Hernandez).

The Mets have expressed some interest, as have the Braves and Mariners. Livan Hernandez is not without his flaws. He's already allowed 20 home runs this season in 20 starts. He doesn't throw very hard, and his ERA this year is 4.77. But he is durable. And for a team like the Mets, which has a couple of starters who don't get deep into games consistently, he might make some sense if the price is right.

He also might be energized by going to a first-place team and pitching in a pennant race. His history in places like Florida and San Francisco shows he can handle big games.

After his horrible outing vs Atl... I wouldn't mind letting him go to the Mets.
