Braves vs. Red Sox

Post#1 » by High 5 » Sun May 20, 2007 4:26 am

No series thread?

Game One: Meh...we could hit Dice-K, getting a hit in every inning, we just couldn't put anything together until the 7th. Of course, none of it mattered with the Sox putting up 13 runs. Lerew had a nice debut this season, but he's been garbage in both of his last starts. Any update on Cormier? I'm glad Redman came back and let Bobby know he still sucked before he let him start another game.

Game Two: How good is Smoltz? He dislocates his finger and comes back to absolutely dominate the Red Sox. Nice to see the offense go off even if it was against scrubs. We've been struggling at the plate.

We have by far and away the hardest interleague schedule, so a series win against the best team in baseball will be a great confidence booster after that terrible series with the Nats. I'll be disappointed if we lose tomorrow's pitching match up.

We left so many runners in scoring position today.

AJ with the embarassing strikeout to end the game with two guys on base...:nonono:

Andruw Jones just doesn't care. He won't listen to his coaches and he strikes out 5 times in a game as a result. Until Cox does something drastic, I can see Andruw swinging for the fences the rest of the year praying the pitcher messes up. He may have 35-40 HRs and 100+ RBIs, but none of that is impressive to me when you're batting .200.

People obviously aren't willing to give him a pass because of his defense anymore. TP called him the most stubborn player he has ever coached. Even Chip (I think it was Chip) sounded pissed when talking about Andruw.

The better team won the series and now I hope we come to play against the Mets.

Andruw is going to play his way out of the lineup.

I don't remember the last time he's looked this bad.

AJ is playing like he's wanting his market value to fall. We certainly need him to get on track.

That's crap, we had the pitching match ups heavily in our favor. They're the better team at full strength (of course, us at full strength would make it close), but we should've won that game.

We could've and should've. AJ is really getting sickening watching him strikeout 2-3 times a game and not helping the team in anyway shape or form other than defensively.

If this continues would anyone be open to trading him if we have no intension of re-signing him this off season?

I can't see Andruw waiving his no trade clause unless the team that was going to acquire him broke the bank, which won't happen. JS had the chance to trade him last year to the Red Sox and for better or for worse decided against it.

Something is going to have to be done if they have no intension of re-signing him this off-season, you can't allow a star caliber player to walk away for nothing.
