Atlanta Braves(Lance Cormier)

@
Washington Nationals(Jason Bergmann)

Scouting Reports:
Braves:
Cormier was a pitch away from winning three consecutive starts for the first time in his career. Nationals center fielder Ryan Church tagged him for a three-run homer, giving Washington a lead it didn't relinquish on Sunday. Still, Cormier took more positive steps in the outing, retiring nine in a row at one point and showing a good curveball. He won his previous two starts and has pitched well in five straight outings since starting the year with a 13.50 ERA after four appearances. Cormier's loss Sunday dropped his career record against the Nationals to 3-4, his most wins and losses against any team.
Nationals:
Bergmann had his third consecutive quality start since being activated from the disabled list in the last week of August. He pitched six innings and gave up three runs on four hits against the Braves. Bergmann struck out six and walked two. The one thing that pleased Bergmann the most was that his curveball was working for the first time since returning from the DL.
